So i know that pre-op i had the problem that my bipap would introduce some air into my system becuase i'd wake up burping/passing gas and then it would pass. my doc said as long as it was only a little and not causing problems that i shouldn't be alarmed

well now that i have less volume to work with in general it is a problem! im passing huge amounts of gas when i get up and can't get fluids in for half an hour or so...

any tips on how to reduce that amount? or reassurnaces that my stupid fear it is stretching  my pouch is in nonsensical?

thanks

I'm two years out and was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. I got my cpap yesterday and since trying it out at the store I have had gas. It was a little last night but has been worse today. I didn't even realize it was related until I saw something online. I'm wondering the same things. Can we reduce it? Will it stretch the pouch?

my surgeon says it is a lot hard to stretch my pouch than i think it is, so i've stopped worrying about it. i need the machine either way. i think wearing a chin strap at night helped the gas reduce for me, though im not sure why that would be true.
