Sleep Apnea - No Insurance

I believe I have sleep apnea and really want to schedule a sleep study to find out for sure. My only problem is I don't have any insurance right now, and the insurance that I'm going to be on in about 3 months has a $2500 deductible. I want to get the sleep study done asap. Does anyone know about what I would be spending if I got the sleep test and the CPAP machine without insurance?

I had mine done less than a year ago at a hospital.  The insurance company was billed $4k for the night, but paid $800.  The equipment itself runs about $1500; the CPAP machine + mask, etc.  I don't think you'll get a much better deal on the gear, but may be able to negotiate the cost of the sleep study itself.

OK, thanks. I think I'm just going to go get it done on my own instead of waiting to get insurance.

OTOH, if you wait until you have your insurance, paying for your sleep study will go a long way towards covering your deductible...

For the CPAP machine and related stuff, you should be able to find better prices online.  Do a google search on "CPAP" and you should find places to purchase machines.
