Retesting

I've lost 48 lbs and I started off with pressure set at 10.  Didn't know i had sleep apnea until I started the process for lap band about 1 year ago.  I wonder if insurance will pay for another study at this point.  I really think I don't have it SA anymore, but just don't know.  It could be that I need my pressure  reduced.  How else can you know what the pressure should be unless you have another study done?   But the big question, will insurance pay again?????

I had my sleep tests covered after I had lost a significant amout of weight.  10% of my current weight was considered significant. Hope this helps.

I had to have 2 tests done before the surgery. They were paid for. I have already had one done and that is when they took me off the machine and now in March need to have another one because I now need an appliance because I still have obstruction it is not caused by the weight. My insurance company will be paying for that one too. I called the insurance company. I would call yours just in case. It should be enough that you have lost weight. Praying this helps.

God Bless you

I think I have lost enough weight to have made a difference.  I will ask my doctor next time I see him if he will order me  another test then the sleep apnea people will check on the insurance to see if it will pay.  I would so much like to be better.   Last night I woke up several times to go to bathroom, didn't use CPAP.  Most of the time I just can't get to sleep with it on.  I think pressure is too high.  I will talk to doc soon.

if you are waking up several times without the CPAP machine (even to go to the bathroom), but do NOT wake up when you use your CPAP machine, you prbably still need it. Waking up a lot is one of the most common symptoms of SA.
