dreading getting a cpap machine
Don't feel bad Betty, I'm the same way, I couldn't handle anything on my face, or near my nose, and I freaked out when I was testing it at the sleep clinic and when I went to get measured for the mask at the oxygen place, I may have to call my surgeon as well and see what he suggests, please let me know what yours says, I'm just glad I'm not the only one in this position!

Thanks Jules! I went back to the Pulmo doc and the lady from the medical supply place also was there. They gave me a different nasal pillow mask, and also a chin strap in case I find I am breathing too much thru my mouth. When she put it on, I did not freak out, and could breathe, so I am hoping for better results. I have to get these hours logged so I don't have to push my surgery date out. I mean if it gets pushed back a couple of weeks, its not the end of the world, but I would like to keep it. (Oct 29th) Many people have said you may go thru several different masks before you find one that works for you. Good luck to both of us!!!!
Take care..I will post as to how things are going!
Hugs,
Betty

hi all...just a quick update..... I switched to a nasal pillow mask...1st nite had the mask on 4 hrs...didn't sleep, took it off and only got about 2 hours sleep....
last nite I sat in the recliner with it on from about 8-midnite....After working all day, I was completely exhausted. I actually dozed off for about an hour! I took it back to bed and even though I did wake up a lot, I managed to keep it on til about 5am and needed a break....my nose was getting sore....we will see how tonight goes...
big hugs,
Betty
