Thank you sooo much for this. It was lots of information that was needed.  My sleep has started to be shakey.  I have appointment for next month and I am going to keep it.  I too do not sleep without my mask even for a nap.

I got my results form last weeks sleep study...

Feb 2008, 515 lbs pressure was 25-27
Oct 2008, 570 lbs pressure the same but wasn't retested (when I had my wl surgery)
Apr 2009, 360 lbs pressure is set at 8 now

I am so excited, 8, WOW no wonder my sleep has gone so far downhill since about Christmas.

I have to buy a new machine, I am no longer able to use bi-pap I get to drop down to a cpap.  NICE!!!  MAKE SURE YOU GET RETESTED, as soon as you notice a change in your sleeping habits because I have had a lot of issues with lack of sleep, memory, concentration, etc...

I hope, i really hope losing another 100 lbs will get my off the machine all together, that would be cool.

Congrats on another step up toward being machine free.  I have appointment with Doctor in June so I will ask his advice then.  Right now I am getting a new mask which I hope is helpful for resting.  Enjoy your day Jamie

I am so glad I happened into here.  I was put on the CPAP in 2003.  Until recently I have only used it a couple of times. (Hate the **** mask)  I did not relate my irritability and tiredness to my sleep apnea.  I was ready to fall asleep by 11:00am each day.  I am back using the CPAP daily.  Never thought about nap time.  I know I am breathing better and better rested now.  (Still hate the mask)  I do not care if WLS takes care of this or not.  I have so many other issues that WLS will take care of or improve.

I asked the PA at the doctor's office I went to,  when I lose weight, at what point do I have another sleep study? She said when I lose 25 lbs. I figure I'll do it again after I lose 40 lbs, because I don't want to do it twice. I'm still waiting for my surgery date.

And Yes, God is good all the time!

Blessings,

Carolyn
Have a great day!
