Hi there

OHIP pays a fair chunk of the cost ($750) and if you are on social assistance they will cover the rest.

Check out  your insurance info.

It's not how many times you fall that matters, it's how many times you get back up

You will be well rested after you begin using your cpap. It meant that I was not needing to doze while reading a newspaper or my new book. I did not feel like sleeping when I needed to drive. I did not need a mid afternoon nap on my one day off. I could get to the end of a video that I rented.
Good luck on your surgery.
I also want to tell you that as your weight drops, should you feel like you are constantly belching when you put the cpap on at night you could be getting excess air. I had lost 120 pounds and began belching, waking up with severe gas, and feeling like I had too much air pumped in me. My settings were high as I had 102 incidences per hour. I am down to 23. I believe my family history predisposes me to sleep apnea. My sister and mom and great grandmother were all sleep deprived.
So, keep this in mind, as you lose you will have to have your cpap recalibrated.

if you have apnea you will need the machine when you go in for surgery.  you better make sure your doctor knows about the apnea, if you have it, they have to have special concerns.

I've not had any major surgery, just had to be careful when they removed my tonsils and did a UPPP (remove the soft palatte tissue) for the apnea - i know that i had to stay over night

just thought i'd mention that
