Sleep study ?
I would say more than likely, because that was my experiance. Of course, I was pretty sure I had sleep apnea before I took the sleep study.
You will get your results from the plumonologist /Doctor (?) soon to either confirm the diagnoses or not.
The question is, if you had the mask on half the night, did you sleep better or feel better in the morning?
I actually left my sleep study feeling better rested than I had in years!.
I had to go for 2 studies. The first one I slept all night wiht all the wires. Then I got a call 4 days later I needed to come back for the 2nd one becasue I FAILED to first one and did in fact have apnea. I wish they could have done mine all in one night. It was a real pain getting wired up 2 saturday nights in a row.
My doctor told me that I needed two sleep studies. The first would be the sleeping test to see if I had sleep apnea. It would take two weeks to get my results and if I had it then I would go back for another study with the CPAP.
When I went to my first test the tech told me that if I was able to sleep for at least 4 hours then my insurance company allowed a split test where I would be switched to a CPAP half way through the night and could then avoid the second study (yeah!). He said that the only way I wouldn't be switched was if I 1) didn't sleep for at least 4 hours or 2) had no sleep apnea at all.
So my guess is that if you were switched half way through the night you had to have had at least one episode.
