This will be first nite on CPAP...
Just had consultation with dr. today telling me results of sleep study last week. I do have moderate apnea so am on a CPAP starting tonight. I hope it goes well, as I have to be on the machine for 30 days before I can have surgery. I am not scheduled yet, but I meet my surgeon a week from today, March 6. I have done pretty much everything else I needed to, so anxious to get this CPAP thing down, too.
I am a very restless sleeper even though I am on Trazodone at night, among other anti-anxiety and Bipolar meds. I am hoping to get some sound sleep. It has been so long!!!!!!
I am hoping all goes well; if not, I am sure I will find plenty of support here! Well, here's to a good night's rest for us all!!!!!!
How long did it take everyone else to get used to the machine? I have the one that goes over my nose, a mask thing. I am hoping my mouth stays shut so I don't wake up non-stop!
I have had my cpap for about 6 years now. I think it took about a week to get used to it completely for me. I wore it whenever I was relaxing to help me get used to it. Infact, they recommend that you do that. I just got a new machine that has a variable pressure depending on my needs as I sleep. So far, the ma*****e is not working. I am still waiting for the company to contact me so they can fix it. It keeps alarming for some reason.
Best of luck!
It seemed to go okay. I managed to leave it on for 7 hours!!! I did wake up a lot, but I didn't move around much. My hubby is out of town on business this week, so my kids have been taking turns sleeping with me, and my 6 y.o. girl slept with me last night and was all over the bed and me!!!!! I think I will sleep better tonight with my 4 y.o. girl who doesn't move much. LOL
Here's to hoping for another successful night!
