CPAP changes

I saw my pulminologist on Thursday. She was so excited at the changes that have taken place since she last saw me a year ago. I had stopped using my cpap about a month ago because the pressure was just too much. It actuallly was interrupting my sleep. Since I have now lost 60 lbs, the pressure of 13 is just way too high. We developed a plan. She is ordering me a new cpap that is a variable rate cpap. It will apparently change pressure according to my needs. Then in about 6 mos when my weight should be a little more stable and near goal, I will have my repeat sleep study. The hope is that I will be able to discontinue the use of a cpap. It is unknown if my apnea developed due to weight which is likely, or that I had it before. Aime
