Does anyone set the pressure or know how to set the pressure on their machine? Or do you have to have it done by a professional? I have called my docs forever and cannot get a call back...I know all I need to do is bump it up from 4 to 5 or 6 at the most and I will feel better....I have called home health places and they say I need my docs referral....hard to do when I have called at least 6 times in the last 6 months and never receive a call back...I know I need a new doc...but he is the only one in my insurance group! Also...Does any one have a (hopefully) cheap recommendations for a good mask?) I have bought 2 masks (the same make of the one I had) and they keep falling to pieces and are expensive! (My insurance does not cover these) Thanks!

The people who supply my machine are the ones that set the pressure for me Dawn. They usually call the doc for me to find out the pressure to set. They can probably get through to him easier than I would be able to. As far as the masks, I've tried a few different types but they all seem to wear out over time....and I don't mean a long time. Mine usually last 6 months. Hope things get better for you! - Bobby

Insurance should cover replacement hoses and masks every 6 mos. Keep calling or better yet appear in your docs office. Don't leave without an answer. Aime

Hey Dawn, I just ran across your post. I know I'm responding a little late but maybe I can give you a little insight... The pressure that is sent on your CPAP is a prescription by the doctor. You can not change it yourself and calling the manufacturer won't help (I work for one) as they will not tell you how to change to pressure- it would be like having them change your prescription... As far as masks- hopefully your insurance has a replacement schedule. You can call your insurance or your home care provider to go over benefits- and take advantage of them . As far as replacing your entire mask- have you tried replacing just the pieces that are broken? Check with your homecare provider to see if they sell parts and pieces, if not there are many websites that do... Hope this helps.......
