Good Evening, Everyone. When I use my c-pap machine, my mouth gets very, very dry. This happens several times throughout the night. I have to spit up some saliva to get my mouth. I am using the mask that covers just my nose. I used to use the full face mask and will be getting another full face mask soon. Thanks for any help. Warmly, Rosemary

I forgot to say that I am using the heated humidifer. My nose has no problem, just the dry mouth.

When you sleep you mouth opens and the air coming in your nose blows out your mouth. I have to use a wide, split chin strap to keep my mouth shut. Hope this helps until you get another full face mask.

Thanks for your response, Loretta. That is exactly what my neurologist said. He ordered me the full-face mask. He also had me try on another full-face mask that covers part of the chin thereby keeping the *****losed for sure. I cannot wait for the mask to get here. Warmly, Rosemary @),'-----

I have the mask that fits over your nose only as well and I get the dry mouth even though I have a chin strap. I tried the full face mask and it just did not agree with me. It would probably help if I had a heated humidifier but my insurance won't cover it and I can't afford one on my own. For now it seems like a small price to pay for sleeping so much better since I got the CPAP. Before I got it I still had the dry mouth, but I slept horrible! Good Luck! -Lisa

I have been having this problems since I had my surgery. I also have the nose mask. I was thinking that the pressure is too high now. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem since my surgery on 10/24. I use a chin strap and use a heated humidifier. I wanted to find out what others do that have the dry mouth. I never had it before surgery. I go to my Dr in January but need to do something different until then. Thanks! Susan
