I am a month and a few days out. I have lost 45lbs. this past week when I wake up my throat and mouth is soooo dry, my husband said when he woke up this morning i was blowing air out of my mouth (cpap is only on nose)? Anybody else experienced this? should i call the doctor to see about getting the pressure lowered? do you have to do the sleep test again to have it lowered?? thanks, nora

Hi Nora, As you lose weight you will most likely need your pressure lowered. Call your doctor, you may not need to go in (maybe your HME will come out and lower it). Have you heard of an AutoSet unit (www.ResMed.com). This unit measures your breath and gives you the correct pressure on a breath by breath basis which great while you are losing weight because it will automatically adjust. The Elite model also lets your doctor and HME provider view all your info. online and adjust the unit remotely- awesome! Check out the website www.resmed.com and www.myresmed.com

I had the same problem. I solved it with a wide elestic chin strap that keeps your mouth (jaw) from opening. I use it with my CPAP every night and even when I nap. I can't not even nap without my CPAP, Loretta
