Bi-PAP pressures lowered AGAIN!

This is so amazing to me. I got the call back today from the pulmonary specialist saying that he will call in new orders for my Bi-PAP pressure levels. New levels are 9/5! The day of surgery my pressures were 21/17 LIFE IS GOOD!!

Hi Dan! Good news about your levels going down. Mine was just lowered from 19/14 to 15/10 mainly because my mask kept leaking. I was wondering what kind of mask you use. Phil

what mask do you use? do you know where the leak is coming from?

I have used my cpap for about a year, and I don't know what my levels are, but it could blow me off the bed, since my problem is severe. Congrats on your lowered level. I will be looking at that is a few months myself. Ned

Congrats to you! I was just dx'd this past week - did the sleep study as part of the roux-en-y pre-op work-up, was put on Bipap titrated at 22/15. I've had issues with my mask leaking at that pressure as well (as another poster mentioned) - very slight if I adjust the mask properly. But I found a homemade solution that eliminates the noise of the leaks that do happen - a piece of fabric cut-out to fit between the seal of the mask and my face at least gets rid of the noise of a leak that would jar me awake. Some hope for u guys, been on bipap for 12 years, up to 18lbs over 12lbs, apnea was caused by my gerd that caused my obesity, then moobsity, in january decided to have the VA give me a machine so that meant having a study with them, so I did not give them history of previous studies. I get them every year. good insurance. the center detertermined that I needed c pap at 8 lbs, sleep like a baby. on the new machine. wife is happy, snoring is much improved. Doctor is pleased,and is sending me for a new study to his center too.
