Renee -- I'm sending you all the "eating happily for your pouch and weightloss" mojo I got stored   up!!  My only plans for the weekend are working -- Fri, Sat, Sun nights (11-7), Monday day and Monday night (my mantra remains, "Sleep is overrated").

Aside from being a closet type A personality and workaholic, it keeps my mind off my ticker and impending surgery date.  Not that it's a bad thing, but I find myself eating what I know I won't eat after my DS yet dumping and suffering for it the "RNY way".  Did I mention masochist along with the workaholic thing?

Topic: RE: Surgery or not? That is the question!
There is nothing wrong with feeling wonderful! Heck, I think most of us can go from feeling wonderful to crappy and back to wonderful in no time flat. Don't let feeling great scare you. It's a good thing!

I think most of us that have had any form of weight loss surgery have been on the diet roller coater, down today, up tomorrow, just like a yo-yo. You're right, it should scare you. It does tax your body, especially your heart. But you know what? A life of morbid obesity is scarier.

I don't think that insurance will deny because you loose 'too much'. The main reason for the requirement of loosing weight prior to surgery is so that when you are on the table you are in the best possible condition you can be in. Your surgeon want you to be as healthy as possible when he/she operates. Watching how you eat and exercising now will also get you ready for the life altering change that surgery is.

Please understand that RNY, lap band, etc are tools only. You will need to be very mindful of what you eat. Exercise still needs to happen along with the mindful eating in order for you to be successful. Mostly what the surgery does for you is help to keep the portions under control. Each procedure has it's pros and cons, but they all come down to being a tool. And you will need to learn how to use that tool to your best advantage.

I hope this was helpful. I only had my gastric bypass eight weeks ago, but if there is anything I can do to help or answer question, feel free to send me a PM.

Have a great day! Deb

I got the nicest gift from my pal today. It is a great roll up case filled with all sorts of neat things that I can use for card making, one of my hobbies. I can use the case
for my craft supplies, travel, make up - it is such a useful design. There was an angel birthstone pin - love it! And some really nice citrus hand lotion - love lemony smelling stuff! This is all so cool.

Thank you so much Secret Pal!! You have been absolutely wonderful! Deb
