Thank you
I would start the losses from your last preop appointment. At this point, I do not even care what I've lost, I just want the pain to go away. I'm plagued with this horrible headaches, when I've never had them before. Plus the staple lines hurt, etc. But all that hurts less than it did yesterday. Now to get rid of the gas and the pain, and to sip sip sip. I'll look for losses when I can get the staples out. You figure when you're not really eating (I don't know if you're on liquids or not) you HAVE to be losing something. Good luck.
Some come home with a loss, but your situation is very normal. You often do not get the fluids out before you come home, plus if you are just starting to get your fluids intake, it can be difficult for you body to break down and flush the excess fat. I would give yourself a week or two before you weigh again. You will lose before then, but unless you are close to some milestone that is important to you, it is best only to weigh every week or two. More than that and quite often and you will be recording fluid ups and downs, which are normal, but frustrating.
What weight you use to start your countdown is really up to you. I have seen many people start at their pre-op pre-diet weight, but they also usually record their surgery day weight. As far as recording pounds lost I have seen it done from pre-op consult and from surgery date. Either gives a pretty good picture of your progress.
