Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a great start to the day. It is dreary and raining here in Pittsburgh. Well, things have been going well weight wise. My mom ended up in the hospital again last night, so we are a bit worried. This chemo is the worst thing I think she has been through. Hopefully we will work our way through it.
Found out that my hubby definatly comes home next month! YAY! That is exciting. I don't know the exact date, but it is still thrilling. I can't wait to see him and can't wait for him to see the new me!
I can't wait for my SP to get my box! I hope I did well. I really tried! LOL
Well....have a great day all. And please keep my mama in your prayers. She needs every one of them she can get.
Its yucky in Jersey too, muggy, hot and ready to rain any minute...I will keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers Mamma.....
If everyone can do me a favor and keep me in there prayers too, Im having a Bronchialscopic done tomorrow..It sounds scarey hopefully its not . Well enjoy your day
Wow Renee, you got everyone else posting and Deb and I go AWOL on you :)
Yesterday I had an endoscopy (sort of a colonoscopy but from the mouth down instead of the other way around). They found lots of inflamation around one of the suture lines and in general and are figuring this is why I can't keep food down.
Meanwhile they put me on karafate which is a liquid that tastes like pink flavored chalk. Don't ask me what "pink" tastes like, I can only tell you that is how it tastes.... Pink. This stuff is supposed to coat the inflamed parts (it is used for ulcers) so that I can keep food down. So far I haven't tried antyhing that I know I have had problems with in the past (I dunno I have this thing about not liking to throw up or tempt it on purpose, ya know??).
The worst part about it all is that I am in a (now) almost 3 week stall. I have lost about #23 and that is where I have been the past 2.5 weeks. I did better at first with my RNY, however, it has been mentioned that when I start eating my body should respond and give up the weight. Right now I am probably in starvation mode and it is just holding on to everything.
That is it from SE PA...where, I have to add, tonight is wonderfully cool and I can't wait to crawl into bed and feel the cool air coming in from outside.....
Another great support group meeting tonight! Except for the fact that I have to work, I love Thursdays! Wish everyone could have a weekly support group to go to. We never really have a set topic, tonight we ended up focusing on serious complications.
Hi Aryiana - Sorry to hear you are still having trouble. Give it your all, it will get better and they will find something to help. And you are definately right about starvation mode. Once you are able to eat better it will come off. 23 pounds in a little over a month is nothing to sneeze at. Haven't been AWOL, been posting almost every day, today just a little bit later than usual.
Have a great evening everyone!
Love ya, Deb

It rained all day today so the plans of walking down to the farmers market had to be changed. We also had a "meet and greet" with our new family doctor today and it went really well...... I like this one!! He's a far cry above the one we were seeing up until today! Tomorrow I'm taking my stepsister to Couburg for an overnight shopping trip :) Talk to you all on Saturday!
How fun, an overnight shopping trip! :-)
