Good afternoon, OH friends!
I found this forum while lurking around OH over my lunch break today and really like it! I hope it can be a resource to me as I proceed to having gastric bypass surgery (hoping for the 2nd week of September) as I often have questions or concerns that I know only those who are on this same journey can fully understand and answer.
I hope this post finds each of you smiling and doing well, and I look forward to keeping in touch! TTFN!

It was nice and sunny here today so I took my kids and the daycare kids to the splashpark in a town about 15 minutes from here. We spent the day, splashed in the water, played in the playground, and had a picnic lunch..... it was a great day!!

Sorry haven't had anything constructive to add to SP board past few days. My wee chicklet that I do nights with left at 5AM this AM for some surgery and I am waiting to hear from her mom how she is doing and if I will be working Wed. night or not.
Lessee....I think I need a break - will be going to our apartment in NY on Thursday night thru Monday. We are seeing 2 shows over the weekend that friends' are performing in.
That's about it from here. 1 Month surgiversary is tomorrow (by date) and I am less than impressed with my #22 loss for the month. Still having esophageal spasms -- even with meds -- and it's annoying to say the least. I just want to be able to drink and not have to stop after 2 sips because it feels like my chest is being crushed.
Sorry -- didn't mean to get all whiny there...

How awesome that you have a place in NY! Which shows will you see?
I am sorry that you are having spasms! Must be a PITA! What does your Dr. say about it?
And, 22 pounds is AWESOME! In ONE MONTH! You go girl!

The NY apartment is cool. We are going to be seeing some community shows -- Little Women and an original 3 part play thing that was written by our friends. More fun than that is when we go into the city and just hang out and walk around and all. Never really had an issue walking up and down Broadway, but from what I understand there is no more car traffic around Times Square so I am looking forward to just browsing around there.
As for the 22 pounds. In and of itself I guess it is ok, but I am comparing it to what I lost when I had my RNY and for going thru another major surgery with everything else (especially the issues with eating) it is truly trying my patience trying to figure out WHY I went thru all this. With my RNY I stopped losing in 6 months so until I bypass that 6 mos and/or the lowest weight I had gotten to, this surgery won't seem like it is a success to me. Does that make sense?
I haven't really talked to my doc about the spasms. Had him put me on Reglan and in doing some reading am now taking a very low dose of ativan along with the reglan to help relax the alimentary tract in hopes of that being able to keep food down and everything happy. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. That being said, I did have a McDonald's hamburger patty today that stayed down beautifully -- the chicken nugget not so much (keep in mind I need high protein and fat so the McDs burger is good for me).
