Secret Pals F.A.Q

Commitment: You have signed up and committed yourself to the Secret Pals program for the duration of 12 full months, running January 15th - December 15th, 2007. Due Date: Packages should be out in the mail by the 15th of each month. We all understand that things come up and we may not get them out on time... if this is the case, please post/email/PM your pal to let them know its running late. Feel free to send out gifts earlier than the 15th if you can. Amount to Spend on Gifts: You are required to purchase gifts equaling $10.00 or more BEFORE shipping costs. Some people spend more, but it is entirely dependent on what you want to and can spend. Addressing Packages: The Post Office can be very picky and even return packages sent out without a proper return address. To try and avoid giving yourself away, In the return address part simply use your First Initial and Full Last Name followed by your address. Example: S. Pal 123 Some Street City, State ZIP Appreciation: I cannot stress enough how important it is to show appreciation to your pal for the gifts they have sent. You can do this by thanking them publicly on the board, or emailing/PMing them. Not only is it nice to say Thank You, but it also lets your pal know that the package has been received. Unfortunately... if you cannot show your appreciation and/or stay in some sort of contact with your 'Pal', you may be removed from the program. It would totally defeat the purpose of the program, which is to make new friends... if you just ignore them. 'Deadbeat' Pals: If you DO NOT receive a package for the month by the 1st of the following month, please contact me at: [email protected] I will do my best to contact your pal and figure out what the problem may be... If they do not respond or give an understandable reason as to why it did not go out, they will be removed from the program and I will assign you to a new pal for the following month. Life Happens... If you have not sent out your gift by the 15th and have a valid reason for delay, you MUST contact me by the 15th so that your Pal can be made aware of the situation. If you have not contacted me, and your Pal has not received their package by the 1st of the following month, you will be removed, and a new Secret Pal will be assigned as soon as another is available. I understand that cir****tances arise and you may not be able to contact me, I will do my best to work with you once you return and are able to fulfill your commitment, however I can not promise you will continue with your originally assigned Pal. If you can no longer participate in the program, please drop me an email to let me know, and you will be removed... no questions asked. If cir****tances change and you wish to rejoin the program, providing you had held up your end of the commitment prior, you may be re-added to the program. If you do not receive your package, this is NO reason for neglecting to send out your own Pal's gift. I absolutely will not accept this excuse, and will promptly remove you from the program. Not to mention... your package should already be sent out before you even realize that your gift hadn't been sent for the month. Gifts for your new Pal should be sent out by January 15th, 2007. This really is a great program, despite a few hiccups here and there but I will do my very best to keep things running smoothly. I look forward to spending the next year with all of you!
