Topic: RE: How are you???
Hi Trisha, Great idea. Hope we get some responses! How long have you been scrapbooking or stamping? At least 5 years How many scrapbooks have you completed? 7 with 2 in progress Where do you buy most of your supplies from? Joanne's Etc, A.C. Moore, QVC What are your other hobbies? Reading, traveling, photography What is your greatest accomplishment so far in life? Surviving 30+ years with a local school system: not be crazy after all those years as a teacher and then counselor Do you have any pets? My dog does not know she is a pet. She believes she is a hairy person. She is my baby - a 7 year old mix of a yellow lab and white shepherd from the Humane Society On a scale of 1-10, how do you feel right now? (1 = poor/weak 5 = so-so, could be better 10= excellent) Probably about a 5. I have systemic sclerosis so goods fluctuate greatly. Since I just returned from an endocrinologist who had some "not so good" news, things are a little down. What got you started in scrapbooking? A friend invited me to her sister's stamping party. That seemed like too much work. She also scrapped. That seemed more reasonable and something that I could do.

How's everyone doing today? Let's get to know each other. Maybe that'll get this board moving! Just copy and paste this into a REPLY and replace my answers with your answers. Only answer what you want. How long have you been scrapbooking or stamping? 4 months - only sat down at a table 3 times so far How many scrapbooks have you completed? None Where do you buy most of your supplies from? ebay.com, Michaels, Stampin' Up What are your other hobbies? This is my only artsy hobby, but I also enjoy writing (scripts, stories, journals), reading, movies, theater, reality tv and bowling. What is your greatest accomplishment so far in life? I would have to say having WLS last month. That was a huge accomplishment for me and it wasn't easy! I'm glad I had it and I have no regrets. Do you have any pets? Yes, a 7 year old Australian Shepard who is obedience trained and the best friend anyone could ever have - but also a fierce protector. On a scale of 1-10, how do you feel right now? (1 = poor/weak 5 = so-so, could be better 10= excellent) Well, it's 2:25am, I can't sleep and need to be up in 4 hours so I would say I'm a 3 right now. I'm in no pain. Just can't sleep. And I took an Ambien (sleeping pill). Ugh!! I want to sleep What got you started in scrapbooking? A co-worker brought in a scrapbook she did on her baby and I was like, OMG! How cool. I can do something like this!! Wow! Then I went online and really researched it and it's a HOT HOBBY!!! Everyone is doing it. I'm like how did I miss out all these years? Okay, your turn!!

I'll check that site out. Thanks!!! Yep, I need to add a LOT more to my scrapbook and stampin' collection. I'm at the beginning stages of it right now.

Yes there is just so much we can do!!! It's hard to decide on which way to go on it. ALl these ideas floating around. I need to decide on one and get started. I took my one-month out photos today and will get those printed out. I hope to see a good difference in a month - 31 lbs. We'll see. I have so much more to lose. But I'm taking it a day at a time. Yeah, that's great that you are doing a WLS scrapbok for your husband and one for you. WOW!! You should get started on your husbands this month sometime so you can compare monthly photos. Take a headshot, middle shot, long shot and then side views. How's your husband doing post-op?

Yea Trisha, I have been checking each day to see if we were getting anyone else to even know we are here. Maybe we can get something going! Just found a site to buy travel related materials. The company is ScrapYourTrip. They do have things that I have never seen. Some friends say that if it is scrapbooking related, it's probably in my craft room. I am currently working on two albums for my niece. The first is an 8x8" highlighting family recipes with the history behind each. I did one for my new "niece-in-law" as a part of her Christmas present which my niece saw. SHe requested one too. I am also doing a bridal shower gift (for the same niece) of her growing up, her fiance growing up, their time together, etc. I usually do pages for the shower, getting ready for the wedding, the actual wedding, and reception but leave mats for those photos. I also am working on a WLS for me. Please let us know what you're up to. Check my post previously to add your "must-haves. Great to hear from another scrapper. Cheryl

Hi, Trisha. I'm fairly new to scrapbooking. My husband bought me some supplies to get me started at Christmas, and I have done a couple of pages. I really do like it. I saw an earlier post about doing a WLS scrapbook. I think I'll do that for my husband who had surgery last month, 3/23. I'm in the process of getting approval as well. What a cool idea...to see the progress in a book. I have all kinds of ideas, just not a whole lot of time.

Hi Trisha, I was beginning to think that there were only a few of us! I have found that if you are a beginner, QVC and HSN have good deals on kits whi*****lude almost everything you need. They have a lot of new stuff before it hits the stores. In fact, I like to watch the shows (and try not to buy ) for ideas and techniques. They are both online. I live on the east coast where there are numerous craft stores. I have found the A.C. Moore has the best prices. Joanne's Etc. and Michael's are both good but you have to watch their prices. I use the coupons they have in the Sunday papers. You can also join a mailing list for Joanne's and A.C. Moore and they will send you flyers and coupons. All three stores are online. I subscribe to Creating Keepsakes magazine and often find new products from that. If you do a search for scrapbooking, you will find a great number of online stores. I but from Chesished Times (a division of Current) and several others. Thanks for responding. Let me know how you are doing. Cheryl
