I make small handmade books. It ties in well with my scrapbooking and it's a great way to use up my smaller scrap paper leftovers. I use recycled cereal boxes and other recycled materials for the covers and good scrapbooking glue and have made journals, haiku books, accordion (stretched-out) books and many other styles. Sheryl

Hi Trisha, Sorry to hear about your insomnia. Wish I had some suggestions for you. In the next few weeks, I plan to "clean" out my craft room and organize things AGAIN! I don't know how it keeps getting this way. Anyway, I would be glad to send you some of the things that I have extras of or know that I am not going to use. I have too many different projects going on at one time so I never seem to put things away correctly. Of course, I pay for it the next time I want something specific. I also just learned about a new product that I want to try. It is a non-smuggable( (?spelling) chalk. It looks great when used on the white edges of paper you tear. Just what I need - to buy more stuff. Take care. Cheryl

Topic: Help! Insomnia for 5 weeks!!!
Since surgery, I have been suffering from insomnia. Dr rx'd me Ambien and instead of taking 1 a night as prescribed I ended up taking 1 1/2 or 2 per night because 1 wasn't cutting it. Now I am out of insurance (between jobs) and out of Ambien and am trying over the counter ones (Simply Sleep) and it's not working. Last night I was WIDE AWAKE until 5:30am and then I went to sleep. I called out at work (a temp assignment I'm on) and am very frustrated about this. Is anyone else having insomnia issues? What are you doing about it (if not taking medication)? I've tried everything, and my body just doesn't seem to want to sleep at night anymore. I'm 5 weeks post-op. If it was a side effect of surgery, it would've gone away by now. Help!

Topic: Anyone try making altered books?
I recently bought a couple books about making altered books and fabric books. There are a lot of good ideas in them and I'm looking forward to making an altered book for scrapbooking. I was wondering if anyone else had made altered books or fabric books ? Have a great week, everyone. Linda L.

Gosh, I didn't even know this site was here! Since I was a little kid,I have loved anything having to do with crafting. I haven't made a scrapbook for awhile but I'm going to visit a friend in Nebraska this week. I plan to take lots of pictures and then gather up my craft supplies when I get home. I'd like to make a scrapbook for myself and one for my friend. Also Father's Day and my daughter's high school graduation will be here soon. Last week, my 12 year old son had a pair of jeans that no longer fit him. They were old and not in good enough condition to donate so I cut out the pockets. There were some pretty neat pockets and I plan to use them in book. I recently bought a couple books on altered books and fabric books. They look like fun and I can't wait to try some of the ideas that I read about. Have a great week everyone. Linda L.

Topic: RE: Pictures of YOU!
Hi Trisha! I make sure I take at least one picture each month...my scrapbook is decorated for each month. If I have a few, I choose the best one. I wear whatever I feel I look the best in at the time, and believe me, you can see the changes!!! There are some pictures on my profile so you can see my transformation! Tracy 299/192/goal 149

Topic: RE: Want ideas for WLS Scrapbook
Hi Marie... For my WLS scrapbook, I used a 7x7 from Creative Memories... I decorated 2 pages for each month of the year, and I make sure I take a picture each month for the book. On the other page, I journal...usually my weight, BMI, and clothes size. It is fun to look through it and see the changes. I just got pictures back today for my April page...you can see a couple of them on my profile. Hope this helps!!! Tracy 299/192/goal 149

Judy Anne, I have not been able to find much in the line of weight loss scrapbooking supplies. There are a few exercise ones, and some assorted food ones. I have been amassing *some* items for my WLS album...one thing I found was a 1/2 sheet or so of embossed tags that talk about "My Goals," etc - not specific to any subject, but would work in this case.
