Topic: Need wls layout ideas!!
HELP! I'm finallly ready to begin my weight loss journey scrapbook and I don't have a clue where to begin or what to do for layouts. The title of my album is "I Choose Life" and I have a lavender 12x12 CM album. I have before & after pics, measurements, and a little journaling but no layout ideas. I could kick myself for not doing more journaling as I went along but I guess life just got in the way! I am not very creative but I can "scraplift" like you wouldn't believe - good thing it isn't against the law!!!
If you have pics of your layouts posted on another site (twopeas or one of the photo sites, etc.) and don't mind sharing, please send me the link (and password if needed). You can send it to me privately ([email protected]) if you prefer.
Thanks in advance your help!

Topic: RE: Scrapbooking Plans
Connie,
I was reading some old scrapbooking posts and saw your reference to an idea in Creative Memories mag. about taking a pic on your surgery anniversay date. Were there other wls ideas? Can you tell me which issue you saw this in? I subscribed for years, but dropped it a couple of years ago b/c I just didn't have time to even look at sb mags and I wasn't doing any sb'ing. I'm trying to get back to it and would love to see some wls ideas.
Hope you're doing well in your wl journey and scrapping up a storm!

I would work on it but it's a disaster. lol I really wanted to get the new floor laid before surgery and I *guess* if I REALLY worked my butt off I could get it done. lol It's my office but it seems like everyone's dumping ground. It's not quite ready for "Clean House" or "Clean Sweep" but it could get there easily. lol My daughter is home with the flu today, my endoscopy is tomorrow, pre-surgery class is Thursday and I'm going crazy working for hubby's business. Every day I rethink the idea of human cloning. I'd be happy with about 5 more of me running around here.
Good luck on the knee surgery. I had mine reconstructed in 1987 (right) and 1989 (left). I still have screws in the left. I'm having lots of problems with my right now. But, I'm not going to my ortho surgeon until I've had this surgery and have lost some poundage.
Have a great week scrappers!

Cyndi,
Of course the XXX rated pics are for you & your hubby only but you'll be amazed at the changes!! I never knew just how broad my backside was until I saw the nudes! Unfortunately I didn't have a round "JaLo" butt. I took nudes the night before my surgery and on my 1 yr anniversary and before & after each round of plastic surgery (I've had 3).
And, yes - unless you're one of those very lucky busty gals that lose in the boobs but not too much, you will have to say goodbye to the "big girls". I say that I went from a 44C to a 38 LOOOOOONG!! And I'm only half joking!! Thank goodness for plastic surgeons. Unfortunately, I developed a hematoma in my right breast 3 days after my lift & augmentation which required going back into surgery to have it evacuated. Now, as a result of that complication I've developed a capsular contracture around the implant which is pushing it out of position. I'm going to have another breast surgery (prob. in July) to correct it. Can't say I'm looking forward to it, but will be glad to have it fixed & to have both boobs look the same.
I've taken lots of plastics pics so I'm planning to include them in my wl sb.
I also record my measurements in an Excel spreadsheet so I can track my inches lost.

I had to laugh about you saying to take nude pics. My husband was deadpan serious when he said "are you taking nude pics too?". Now, honestly, I don't WANT to remember what I look like now without the clothes. LOL But, it'll be the last time I look like this so I'm still thinking that one through. I guess it would be good to remember back to a time when I *had* boobs cause I have a feeling they'll be long gone back to A cups by the time I'm done.
I had a great Excel spreadsheet that I used to take monthly measurements. Maybe I'll dig that out again.

Betsy,
I must confess I am a "lapsed" scrapbooker. I keep buying supplies but have not actually done a page since 2003. I have started several albums but never finished most of them.
I have begun the following albums:
Heritage album (hubbys family) - gift album for SIL but planning to duplicate same pages for my family
Trail to Eagle (Boy Scout Book) for # 2 son (also need to do same for #1 son)
1999 album - needs a bit of computer journaling to be finished
IN addition to my wls journey album I want to do many others! I have over 30 years of pics to do something with!! I need all the encouragement I can get! Let's hope we can get this group going again!!

Cyndi,
Don't wait to set up your scrapbook room! Do it NOW!! That way you can begin scrapping your wls during your recovery. The longer you wait - the harder it is to get going. Believe me, I KNOW!!
I have a scrapbook room which is usually buried in other junk! I'm currently recovering from knee surgery 3 weeks ago & shoulder surgery last week but I promise you, I am getting into my scrap room ASAP and getting it dug out (again) and beginning my wl scrapbook!!! I will be having another surgery, probably in July, so I hope I can get some layouts done before I go back under the knife.

Bev,
I thought I "prepared" for my wl sb but I didn't do a very good job? I gave away all my old clothes & didn't think to cut out some old size tags. I do have a pic of me in a pair of slacks pointing to the size 4 tag attached. I was modeling them in the OH Ft. Lauderdale fashion show last year and of course, I HAD to buy them b/c they're the only size 4's I think I've ever worn!!
You're wise to begin gathering ideas & supplies before your surgery. In addition to pics at least once a month (include some nudes), be sure to take your measurements. This is for your sb but also if you hit a plateu and the wt loss slows down you'll notice the inches keep dropping and that helps keep you from getting discouraged.
Good luck on your wl journey!

Cyndi,
I think it's great that you have a few projects going on. I like the idea of a scrapbook room I wish I could do that but as of now I can't maybe some day?

Vickie,
I am pre-op so I haven't gotten into this seriously yet but plan to soon. I have seen a few good ideas suck as using clothing size tags as embelishments and hidden journaling. I have done several scrapbooks over the few years I have been doing it and I love working on them. If I can be of any help just let me know. I'm going to start looking for weight loss and diet stickers and embelishments.
