HOME DEPOT

My favorite thing to do is roam throughout Home Depot looking for embellishments. There are little hinges, washers, screens, etc at very very good prices. The paint samples are my favorites right now. And, they are FREE!!! There are Mickey paint samples in lots a great colors. The Mickey peels right off the paper. There are also some paint samples that are textured. My daughter and I used these throughout scrapbooks we worked on last summer. Some look just like sand and worked well on beach pages. We like these samples because they are square and have no writing on the front. They also come in all kinds of great colors. We just run them through our sticker maker and they are ready to use!! Ask one of the nice people in the paint section and they will tell you to take what you want. Happy scrappin' and stampin'! Judy

I have a whole bunch of the paint chip samples and even some laminate samples, but I have yet to use them. I just can't seem to find the right page for them yet. I feel the need for a trip to Lowe's....no Home Depot around here. Amanda

Great idea Judy.... I have done the same at local office supply stores but, of course, there are no freebies there. I bought some small hinges at A.C. Moore but they were somewhat expensive. I think the next stop for that kind of thing will be Home Depot or Lowes. Thanks for the thought. Cheryl

OMG! I never thought about that!! What a great idea!! and I LOVE Home Depot - even when I lived in an apartment - I just LOVED the store!! Makes ya want to go out and build or install something! hahaha! I'll go there tomorrow or Monday and get some samples while it's still fresh in my mind. Okay, the Mickey paint samples - are they stickers or paint - you said they peel right off. I'd love to get that because I'm going to Disneyland in late June. And you are right, they sell all sorts of little stuff there that can be embellishments in albums or even cards (for us stampers!) Hugs, Trisha

Trisha, Check out the Mickey samples tomorrow at Home Depot. They show the color of the paint, but seem to be glued on white background. They peel right off! Then pick up some washers - one big, two small and put them together to form another Mickey!! Looks super with ribbon running behind it. Judy

Yes Home Depot rocks for so many reasons...I didn't know about the Mickey things...I am so checking that out.! I LOVE HD also b/c that is where I buy my tiles for coasters....they are so inexpensive their! I love the cards made with the pait chips!!! So darn cute!!! Happy Shopping!! xoxoxojenn
