Finally - we have a group of people who now realize that we are here. Now we have to keep things moving. If you will make a new post and answer questions, we may actually make this work. 1. How long have you been scrapbooking? How did you get started? 2. Do you have any general themes or topics? 3. What supplies are important or make life easier for you? 4. Have you found any really good shops, online sites, etc.? 5. Are you doing a WLS book? If so, any suggestions for it? Please feel free to add whatever info you wish. Maybe if we start posting new messages, we will attrack more people. Thanks, Cheryl

Hello! 1. I have been scrapbooking for 9 years now!!! I was visiting my Aunt in North Carolina and she had just been to one of the first Creative Memories workshops, the minute I got back to Michigan I started looking for a Creative Memories rep to get started! 2.no themes.....well I have my wedding album and then my kids albums just go year to year. 3. The one thing I would not do without is my wavy cutter from Creative Memories.... you can use it to do so many things..... 4. I have one favorite shop I like to frequent online : http://www.lifetimemoments.com/ 5. I decided against a WLS book...... over the years I am not in many pictures in my kids albums.... I am hoping that when this is all over I am going to start being in alot of pictures!!! I have taken one picture as a reminder..... but I want to look to the future!!!! Thanks, Nikki

Hello ScrapperAddicts, 1. I have only been scrapping about 2 years, but have run a copycenter for about 12 and all that is, is glorified scrapping and layout LOL. I got started when we clearanced a bunch of scrapbook stuff at work. Had done a few small tidbits before that but never with the zeal I have now. 2. I have a book for my daughter, one for myself and one for my mother. I know what you mean about not wanting to be in any of the photos and such. My book has ONE page in it, and its about my mother LOL. Its hard to set your Obese pictures on a page that is supposed to be a lifelong memory huh? 3. My fishing tackle box is my most important item. I opted not to go for the cute little black crop organizing things and went straight to the outdoorsman aisle at walmart. It has so many cubbies and little cups and such that it works great for my supplies, never mind it makes me look like the "grumpy old Men" movies LOL. 4. I absolutely love www. scrapbookbytes .com... its for digital scrapbooking with LOADS of downloadable kits for Photoshop and other ps programs. I loaded my first page there today. and plan on doing a lot more as it is much cheaper than buying all the brads and buttons for real. why pay when you can download them for free huh? My gallery is under MckenziePhoenix, Like I said its pitiful with only one upload right now LOL. 5. Have not decided on a WLS book yet, I probably will start one as soon as i finally get the surgery, possibly do a few pages beforehand but nothing definite. Happy Scrapping Tairie

Sorry for the newbie questions... do you scrap it for real or do it all on the computer and print it out? What programs do you need on the puter to do that? Thanks, Donna

Hi Donna, I do it the old fashioned way still but I am learning about digital scrapbooking. I do transparencies on the computer now and add them to my layouts. Cheryl

Cheryl - where are your replies? 1. How long have you been scrapbooking? How did you get started? I've only been scrapbooking since about January. I saw a co-workers scrapbook she made for her baby and I was like WOW!! I had no idea about the creativity and artsy way about photoalbums. So I received a starter scrapbooking set for Christmas and had some friends/family over to learn with me. So I've just started these last few months. I have yet to finish an album. 2. Do you have any general themes or topics? 1st album was "Sisters" - pictures of my sister and me throughout the years. 2nd album is travels. 3rd album is weight loss surgery journey. None of these albums are done yet. I have like 2-3 pages done in the first two and nothing on my WLS journey yet. I'm stocking up things for it though. 3. What supplies are important or make life easier for you? Hmm....I'm still new at this so I am not sure. Probably colored paper. They add so much to a page and the scissor shape thingse really jazz it up. 4. Have you found any really good shops, online sites, etc.? Ebay, Walmart and Michaels have been my only stomping grounds for supplies so far. I'd love to go to a scrapbooking workshop sometime. 5. Are you doing a WLS book? If so, any suggestions for it? Yes! Absolutely. Suggestions - SAVE everything - from acceptance letters, denial letters, blood work, things from hospital/dr offices, etc. You never know what you may need or want and it's best to have too much stuff than not enough. Also write down how you felt each day in hospital - I did do that - writing was a bit sloppy since I was drugged, but I wrote about nurses, other patients, goings on, etc. You forget little stuff like that post-op. Duh???????? I can't believe I never did this. Thanks Trisha. 1. How long have you been scrapbooking? How did you get started? I've been at this for about 6 years, give or take. A friend's sister had a stamping party but I thought that looked too much like work. I need instant gratification. The consultant also did scrapbooking so...it was off to the races...and the bank! 2. Do you have any general themes or topics? I do whatever hits me at the moment. I travel quite a bit so I have about 4 albums just of trips. 3. What supplies are important or make life easier for you? I love my Xyron machine, Wacky Tac products (especially for vellum), Perfect Layers for matting, and a True-Color light. 4. Have you found any really good shops, online sites, etc.? Oh my gosh!!!!!!! I am known by name at Michael's, AC Moore, and Joanne Etc. There are really good buys here at Target, WalMart, and believe it or not - in the notions dept. and small tool areas in hardware stores. I use www.scrapyourtrip.com, QVC, HSN, and www.TimesToCherish.com 5. Are you doing a WLS book? If so, any suggestions for it? I am and actually "borrowed" an idea from this board. I am rapidly becoming enthralled with the 8x8" format. It is much faster and better for one theme albums. Take care. Cheryl

1. About a week this time. I started about 8 years ago, then had my son (third child) and never "got around to it"! 2. No themes. But my general excuse for NOT scrapping is I have 15 years worth of pictures I'd have to organize before I could do it. UGH. 3. Don't know about scrapping materials, but I DO stamp (actually I'm a Stampin' UP! demonstrator) and I would have to say my paper cutter... couldn't cut a straight line if my life depended on it! 4. Online sites for scrapping... Not YET 5. I doubt I will do a WLS book... I can't stand pics of me BEFORE wls! Unless it's the Before Kids pics.. them I'm good, lol
