Hello !
Heather,
I am new also. Welcome. I had my surgery 2 years ago and love it love it. The first couple of months is tough but hang in there it get easier as time goes on. You will not belive yourself in 3, 6, 12, 18 months and so on.
Take tons of pictures. That is the one thing that I did not want. I guess I was afraid of failure and did not the pictures to remind me of one more "diet" that did not work. So take tons from every dirction, in bathing suits, close up and full length. You will cherish those pictures. They will document your progress and show you how far you have come. When I feel sorry for myself or want to eat everything in sight I take out my few pictures I have of me at my largest and look at them. Bam..I'm back in control.
I love to scrap - I started it after my sugery as I had time on my hands then.
Good luck April 13, I will be thinking of you!
Monica
gret advice, Monica. Take lots of pics, even if you will only be using a few.
for more info, heather, you can check out www.twopeasinabucket.com Tons of good ideas, advice and info there. I spend far too much time 'pea-ing'. LOL
Hi Lexie!
I didn't expect to see any LMers here, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear from you!
I had been doing research about WLS, and decided to go for it after all the info I collected suggested that this could be just what I need. I am happy to say that my surgery is scheduled for July 26th! (I could have scheduled it sooner, but I have my son's Bar Mitzvah in May and a family vacation in June, and both would be difficult if I was recovering from surgery.)
hugs,
Norri
Barb Pit**** is here also...she is Paperdolls on LM (I think).
I'm soo excited for you to get your surgery. You will do great. You seem so outgoing and happy..it will take you FAR in this journey!
Are you going to keep a profile on here so people can follow your wls journey ?
Good luck to you Norri! Its great to see a familiar face...I should have a BEFORE picture showing up on here one of these days. It is of me pre-op but it will do for now.
Keep in touch!
I am having my surgery on the same day 4/13. I am taking my scrapbooks with me to the hospital so I can catch up on my journaling. I am doing this because my husband/little kids will be unable to be with me due to the hospital is 2 hours away from home. I have about 8 separate albums that I am currently working on. I think I will only make a small one (7x7) as my WLS one.
