Happy Friday Gang!!! What a nice comfortable morning it is. I have a list of yard work I want to get done today and hopefully swing by my SIL's to drop off some chicks I hatched for her and get some cages. Other than that nothing much for day one of vacation.

QOTD: Has a movie ever been filmed in your town? I just found out that the new M. Night Shyalaman movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal is being filmed in RI and in the small town I grew up in Chepachet which is less than 10 minutes from where I live now. They are filming in the Old Stagecoach Tavern now called Tavern on the Main. It is known to be haunted. So cool.

B: coffee and glass of homemade beet juice

L: Salad with chicken salad

D: grilled cod and summer squash

30 minutes on the treadmill

Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!!!

Mel I've been thinking about the carnivore diet with maybe a jumpstart with the egg diet since I have so many fresh eggs. Take a look at this You Tube video. These doctors get really in-depth about the carnivore diet in a positive way.

Happy Friday-eve gang. It has finally cooled down some and we are getting some needed rain showers after all the heat the last few days. Tomorrow starts my vacation and I'm not sure what we will be doing, but I do know Irvin wants to go to a restaurant he found in Tiverton, RI. He was watching some food challenges, and this lady did the cookie monster challenge which consisted of a 2-pound fresh baked chocolate chip cookie topped with 15 scoops of ice cream. While the challenge is for 2 people, she did it herself in under 8 minutes and won $200. Ice cream is his weakness, and I know he could do that challenge himself in under 10 minutes, but I told him I would rather just go and get a sandwich or something. I also want to go clamming if the weather is good enough.

QOTD: For those of you who eat eggs how do you like them prepared? My go to way is scrambled, but like hard boiled or in an omelet. Yesterday Irvin made 4 soft boiled eggs and what a difference between hard boiled. I think I might just start having them more often.

B: coffee and 2 soft boiled eggs

L: salad with cottage cheese

D: grilled chicken thighs

Happy Hump Day Menuers. Boy did it get toasty in the scale house yesterday afternoon even with the A/C on. The trucks started coming in one after another and having to open the little window to get the info from them and then again to give them the ticket when they scaled out really sucked the hot air in. Today I made sure to wear a tank top instead of a t-shirt. I don't like to be sweaty or sticky.

Didn't do much when I got home excep****er the garden. I've been taking turmeric with bromelain again as my right thumb has been bothering me. That stuff really helps with joint pain and inflammation.

QOTD: What do you all take for pain? With all of us having WLS and we all know not to take NSAIDs due to the risk of ulcers and such I've turned to more holistic things and have found turmeric with added bromelain works pretty well. I will also do Epson salt soaks even if it is just my feet. I have also used Emu oil rubs on one of my knees.

B: coffee and 1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1/4 sliced strawberries

L: kale and butter lettuce salad

D: grilled pork burgers

Happy Tuesday Gang. I'm in the scale house again, but I kind of don't mind. The A/C is blaring and I got to call out a resident who felt they could just dump whatever they wanted including a huge mattress that we do not take. Public humiliation can be a good thing especially since it really ****** the other residents off that some of them don't follow the rules. I picked some Summer squash last night and planted some eggplant and peppers they are a little bit of a later crop.

Irvin wanted to try beet juice so I picked up some beets. We have a juicer that was gifted to us years ago and have only used it a few times. I peeled the beets added turmeric root, ginger, lemon, and black pepper. It almost tasted like V8 juice I really liked it, Irvin said it was OK a little earthy.

QOTD: Who here likes root vegetables? I really enjoy them in the Winter roasted. Though I make a nice chicken soup with turnip, parsnip, and carrots. I also like pickled beets but haven't made them in a long time. I'm thinking of growing some in the early Fall.

B: coffee and 1/2 cup cottage cheese with raspberries

L: salad with sliced ham/cheese

D: grilled shrimp with kale and red onion salad

Happy Monday Gang. It was nice to have a three-day weekend, and this is another short week for me going into my vacation week next week. The heatwave officially started yesterday. Thank God for central air. I was doing some gardening throughout the day with taking breaks in the cool house.

Friday we were not able to go strawberry picking because every place was closed for ripening, so I came up with a plan to go mini golfing instead. We had so much fun it was way better than picking strawberries.

QOTD: Who here likes things like mini golf, go-karts, etc.? I haven't been mini golfing or go-karting in years and I told Irvin I want us two to go since the place in less than 10 minutes from us. There is also a place in Somers, CT that has bummer boats, batting cages, mini-golf and all sorts of fun stuff.

B: coffee and1/2 cup cottage cheese with raspberries

L: garden salad

D: chicken loaf with fresh swiss chard

Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Friday!!!! Not sure if I'll be going strawberry picking since it seems like all the places are closed today for ripening. So I'll have to figure something else out to do with my daughter and granddaughter. What a difference in the weather compared to yesterday. It is cool and windy, but I think it is supposed to get into the 80's later on.

The rain held off last night and Irvin was able to go watch the grandkids race. They had a blast and are really into it.

Not sure of a QOTD so if someone has one please feel free to post it.

Morning gang. A little late here I had to run to Walmart because Primo water decided to cancel our water delivery yesterday. Now I need to call them and let them have it. Since they have merged with Ready Refresh the service has been horrible.

The weather today is officially called swamp ass weather. It is so warm and muggy it is sickening. But today is my Friday woo hoo now I have to find a place for tomorrow for strawberry picking with my mom, daughter, and granddaughter. Crossing fingers that the NASCAR midget racing is still on for tonight for Irvin's grandkids.

QOTD: What's your favorite water sport? Irvin used to waterski when he was younger. For me I just like boating especially in sal****er and being able to fish is an added bonus.

B: coffee and 2 egg bites

L: salad with 1/2 cup egg salad

Tomorrow night is the grandkids first trial race of the NASCAR midget cars in Thompson and Irvin is so excited. This is another short week for me as I took Friday off.

QOTD: What outdoor activity do you enjoy most? I actually like hiking not that I do it often, but I enjoy going through the woods and finding unusual landmark or structures.

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone! I'm out in the scale house on this rainy day, but it's not that bad. Funny some of the drivers are happy to see me. I got in for 6:30 to make sure I got my office stuff done before I came out here for 7 and I told them I would work out here until 4. I didn't realize until yesterday that we were taking one of the boilers down for a quick repair to the ID fan. Hopefully all goes well as our purchasing person is working from home and if they need anything well I'm the back up to purchase stuff and my hands are kind a tied with me being in the scale. HA HA.

I helped Irvin put the top part of the exhaust on his dually since he was having a hard doing it himself and after two hours got frustrated. So when I got home, I told him I would help him. It took us 15 minutes and he was so happy. Definitely a two-person job.

QOTD: Do you help your spouse or family members with stuff they are struggling with? We usually help each other out with things and it always makes it easier.

B: coffee and egg wrap

L: salad with tuna

D: chicken burgers

Good Monday morning gang. I hope all the dads out there had a nice Father's Day. I made Irvin a beef brisket and angel hair with shrimp and lobster pieces. It was a quiet weekend because Saturday it rained and then Sunday it was overcast and I didn't feel like doing anything. Just did some inside cleaning and cooking.

This week I start twice a week covering the scale for the next 8 weeks, but I get 6% upgrade pay for doing it so that's pretty good. I also have this Friday off and I'm hoping to go strawberry picking with my daughter and granddaughter.

QOTD: What's your favorite fruit? I love all sorts of fruit, but strawberries and golden kiwi's are at the top of my list followed by blueberries and red raspberries.

B: coffee and 1/2 cup cottage cheese with fresh strawberries

L: salad with cut up brisket

Good morning gang. We did again another week in the books. The scale printer is still down and IT doesn't know when they will have remote access to reinstall the printer driver. I must have gone back and forth to the scale house about 6 times, and I had 10,000 steps in by noontime. I emailed all the haulers to let them know that I would be emailing tickets to them today since I can print them off from my computer.

I am so very glad that it is Friday. Irvin and I might be going to watch the grandkids do their first race tomorrow if the weather permits. His son messaged him and asked him what size t-shirt he wears because he is ordering pit crew shirts. The shirts will be orange with a big racing flag on the back and the front will have McLaughlin Racing on it. He's so excited and like a kid in a candy store. He just loves anything to do with cars.

QOTD: Does anyone know what the fear of Friday the 13th is called? I do, but I want to see who else knows. While many people are superstitious of Friday the 13th I for one have always found it to be a lucky day. Case in point I bought a $1 scratch ticket yesterday but waited to scratch it today and I won $5. It might not be much, but it is a win.

B: coffee and breakfast wrap

L: salad with grilled chicken

D: baked cod with fresh baby kale, red onion, blue cheese, and EVOO

Good Morning gang. We have all sorts of crazy computer things going on at work today. The printer for the scale tickets is down and our corporate IT can't remote in because their app to do that is down. All I can do is laugh about it. Technology at its finest. Other than that, I have to go make some breakfast casseroles for the guys that I promised.

The weather looks to be nice again today and hopefully the weekend isn't a total wash out like they said it was going to be.

QOTD: If a complete stranger gave you $1000 just because they wanted to would you take and what would you do with it? I would take it and donate half of it to the local cat shelter that does a ton of great things for the community and the feral cat population along with placing cats/kittens that were given up for one reason or another. The other half I would put towards a cheese making machine. :)

B: coffee and 2 eggs scrambled with scallions and cheese

Morning gang. Halfway through another week and finally see some sun. Of course this weekend is going to be a total washout. Really getting sick of the rain especially on the weekends my only time to do a lot of stuff outside.

I had a meeting with my plant manager and the lead FA1 and we talked about scale coverage late yesterday. I will be covering from 7am to 4pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I do have my fourth of July week off. I found out that when you are out on FMLA you do not accrue PTO time so Renee is going to be in for a rude surprise when she finds out she is not going to have 30 hours of time off that she thought she would have. I also found out that she was bragging to other co-workers that she could have only taken 2 weeks out since the procedure she was having done wasn't very invasive, but she wanted the Summer off so she could ride her new motorcycle. You know what they say Karma is a *****

QOTD: Have you ever just spontaneously bought something because you thought it would be useful? I didn't, but my husband did. Last Winter he bought the goats this huge, heated dog mat because he thought they would be cold. It is still in the box.

B: coffee and 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and onions

L: salad with cottage cheese

D: ribs on the grill

Good morning gang. Boy I just can't catch a break at work. Here I thought things would be quiet for a while only to find out they dropped the ball on who was going to cover the scale house while our scale attendant is out on medical leave. I get told when I walk in that I'm going to have to help out and cover a lot of the 8 weeks she's out. I'm going to be honest I don't have time for this bull**** I keep getting pulled to do this or do that and then get **** from corporate when stuff isn't done on time. Well guess what I can't be in 5 different places at once, doing 5 different things. And they wonder why I get pissy and snappy at some of them. You will only push me so far and then it is FAFO what I am capable of. They say patience is a virtue no it isn't that's a lie.

Anyway I've been harvesting strawberries every night from my strawberry patch, and they are the sweetest ones I've ever had. It's supposed to be a rainy day, so I won't be doing much when I get home.

QOTD: Would you just leave a job without giving a notice? While I have always given at least a 2 weeks' notice or even more. Today I just wanted to get back in my car and go home. One thing I hate is not being told something ahead of time regardless if it is something at work or at home it drives me crazy and puts me in a sour mood for the day.

Good Monday morning gang. Here's to the start of another week to tackle things. We have two new hires today that I have to onboard which isn't all that bad, but it's nice when I only have to do one at time since I only have one training computer, but I'll figure something out. Saturday I did a bunch more planting while Irvin went with one of this granddaughters and grandsons to a NASCAR go-cart class that the two of them will be joining and Irvin was asked if he wanted to be part of the pit crew. Yea that was an exciting time for him. He also went back yesterday to watch some of the racing so the kids could understand what was going on.

Late yesterday was one of my nephews wedding in South Kingstown. I picked my daughter up and we got there at 4:30 1/2 hour before it started. I stayed until 8:30 as I had to be up early this morning. The wedding was nice, but I got stuck sitting between my stepfather and oldest sister both of whom I can't stand being near. It took everything in my power not to stab them both. They kept reaching back and forth in front of me because he was showing her his trailer in Maine and how much work he's done to it. I had asked her if she wanted to switch seats, but she was "no why do I want to sit next to Paul". Um I don't know because you're stuck up his ass and always defends him over your own mother. Anyways I was smart and didn't drink anything bu****er.

QOTD: Do you have a family member or members that you could go the rest of your life without ever seeing them again? Yes I have two as noted above.

B: coffee and two eggs with onions and cheese

L: tossed salad with cottage cheese
