Good morning, everybody!

We got home pretty late on Sunday night and on Monday, Marilyn got notified by the pool contractor that he was ready to start the refinishing process. So, she flew down Tuesday night. Unfortunately, she didn't make it until about 3:30 AM on Wednesday.

She started out slow yesterday, but by the end of the day was sending me to do lists, so I think she is back on her feet.

They drained the pool yesterday, today is repairs to the lights, walls and skimmer, tomorrow is the refinishing and they will start refilling it on Saturday. We are also switching to sal****er, but I'm not sure what day that is going to happen.

It's so cold in Chicago that I had to wear a knit hat just to run a mile outside yesterday.

QOTD: Marilyn is still going to be away, so I will mostly go to the gym and tie some flies. Maybe use the grill on Monday.

Breakfast: bagel

lunch: may try to find a new place to try

dinner: meatball sub

Have a great day, all!

Good Morning Gang. Here are some pictures of the reception area the pictures loaded backwards, but we went from a tan to a red. The red is part of our company's color scheme. It actually came out pretty good. We are also getting some rug with our logo. Today is my Friday as I have tomorrow off and next Friday off. I'll have a nice long weekend with the holiday on Monday. I've already done a list of what I want to get done.

I told the guys I would make them so quiche for lunch so I will head up stairs and get started on that in a little bit.

QOTD: Anyone have any plans for the holiday weekend? I'm hoping to get my garden in or at least most of it. And do some extra yard work.

B: coffee and 2 eggs scrambled with feta and spinach

L: ham and cheese wrap

D: baby back ribs on the grill

30 minutes on the treadmill

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Hi All!

I really do need to start coming back here regularly. My weight is up a bit, and I need to get a handle on it before it spirals out of control.

Greg is retiring at the end of May, and I've got to turn my Medicare stuff into the state's personnel office since I go on Medicare in August. With both of these situations, our health care will be changing (the payment for Greg's, who's a few years younger than me, will be coming from a different source starting in June - and it'll change again in August since Medicare will become my primary payee, which will lower our premiums, but complicate things a bit - at least on our end - but I think this will work out fine).

QOTD: I don't mind painting. I used to like doing minor electrical things (like hanging new fixtures and replacing outlets), but after sparks flew out of the wall when I was trying to switch out a bathroom fixture once a few years ago, Greg forbade me to undertake any more electrical projects, even minor ones.

here's what I had today:

B: plain skyr with homemade blackberry compote (cooked down with lime and artificial sweetener), thin slice of homemade wheat toast with about 2 t of mixed nut butter

L: protein muffin with whipped cream cheese

AS: Skinny Pop popcorn (6 cups of it - whoops)

D: thinking about a salmon fillet and broccoli. (I'm already drinking a glass of wine, which unfortunately is something I think about every day, but I'm forcing myself to just have one about 2-3x a week and not every day. I've got an addictive personality, so I need to NOT get too used to this!!)

hope everyone had a great day!!

P.S. forgot to add that I attended a cardio/strength class at my gym - but virtually (it's cold and rainy out!). Twenty minutes of low-impact cardio and 25 minutes of strength training. I do enough cardio on my own, but not strength training - so this will be a good way to get back into it, since it's pretty light. They have this class 3x a week..

thanks for the tip on Bai water - I'll head over there tomorrow - that's an even better deal than Costco occasionally features!

I love the way new paint looks and feels. Have to hire someone now but used to do my own. Back in the 80s I used to do a lot of wallpaper too.. Good luck with that weather forecasf. Sounds brutal.

Good morning, everybody!

I was remiss, because I forgot to tell everybody that Bai Water is on sale for $13.99 a case at GFS, if you have a location in your neighborhood.

I skipped swimming this morning, because I am still getting back in the swing of things after being on vacation last week. Hopefully, I will make it back on Friday morning. I did go to CrossFit and will go again today.

QOTD: in general, yes. I'm not super talented at any of it, but I can do some things.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: hamburger

Dinner: Pasta

Have a great day, all!
