Good Morning! Back to reality after a great time off. This week will go by fast though. I know today will be trying to play catch up but it was so worth it. And, I've joined royalty with my first crown yesterday (a follow up from my dentist appt a few weeks ago). I have a few more appointments to get through to be done with this round.
QOTD: I've never had to travel for Thanksgiving. I can't imagine having to be in an airport this week.

Tuesday another day closer to the weekend. I always wanted an English Bulldog they just have the cutest smoosh face.
I got my stuffing bread and dinner rolls so my shopping is 100% complete for Thanksgiving. Now I will just start prepping things.
Meisha had a bit of a tummy ache this morning and was dry heaving so I took her out for a little walk. She spit up some bile and then wagged her tail. I think she just wanted her breakfast and I was taking too long to get it ready. When we came back in I gave her a little goat milk while I finished making it and she seemed fine after she ate. I swear she's like a little diva sometimes.
Just a full day of work today and then 3 hours tomorrow and then I'm off until next Monday.
QOTD: Have you ever had to travel a long distance to get somewhere for Thanksgiving? In the past I would go to my mom's for dinner, but she only ever lived no more than 20 minutes from me. I've been cooking dinner for a good 15 plus years, so we don't go anywhere anymore.
B: coffee and protein shake
L: Tuna melt
D: roast chicken
Have a great day everyone!!!
G'Afternoon!
my life seems like a whirlwind lately - and it won't let up for a while, unfortunately. I have my hip replacement surgery on Dec 18th and am looking forward to spending several days in my pajamas just reading and watching movies (and getting up to walk around the house several times a day, I'm guessing - they want you using the thing right away). Before then, in addition to everything else, I have to get this house in order. We'll have a cat sitter coming in every day to help DH with the cats. All four get meds, but I may only be able to handle one of them for a while after my surgery (he's easy-peasy - never puts up a fight). Two of them can be a huge struggle to medicate and I'm not sure I'll be able to do it will standing with a walker - and a third is good with meds in general but gets subcutaneous fluids, and I'm not sure I'll be able to do the fluids for the first couple of weeks. So at least we'll have help - but I don't want her to see this messy house!
QOTD: there will only be three of us this year (me, DH, and my mom), so I'm getting take-out dinners for us. So I won't be making anything. I'm actually kind of relieved - making Thanksgiving dinner is a lot of work!
coffee with half & half
rye crumpet with light butter and jam
plain skyr topped with cooked, diced apples in homemade SF apple butter
protein shake
Lesser Evil popcorn
probably taco filling with tomatoes, plain Greek yogurt, and salsa for dinner
have a great rest of your day!
How did you like the classes?

I have waited five hours for the eye specialist in his office. He comes in from Cleveland a few times a month and there is a long list of people waiting to see him. He is wonderful, so worth the wait time.
I made my brined turkey breast this weekend and it is really good. I love turkey, but often would get it too dry. This is nice and moist and full of flavor. Thanks Teenie for the recipe. I am making stuffing from Stove Top and adding celery and onions fried in butter. I made homemade cranberry sauce and will also steam some asparagus. The turkey will do me for a few meals this week.
I will be with family on Thanksgiving and will probably eat the ham instead of turkey. Not doing anything special but so happy to be with them. I love cheese but rarely buy any. I just go some asiago cheese to have for snacks for a while.
I find ham salad too sweet and next time I make it, I will use dill reli**** is cold and cloudy here, 48 degrees. But I am really enjoying fall this year. My Dyson vacuum kept stopping on me and I spent the morning completely taking it apart and cleaning each piece. I finally found a clog and it is definitely from my newly adopted cat. His fur is so fine it clogged up inside the vacuum. Hopefully won't happen again but at least now I know how to fix it.

Yes, I love cheese and fruit preserves like fig or apricot and a salty ham to go with it. My son actually got out of bed to go to the market with Marilyn, for the cheeses!

I love cheese. I bet that French market has some really amazing cheeses. Years ago I had an imported sheep cheese from France that was so strong, but delicious.
Good morning, everybody!
I am pretty busy for the next 48 hours or so. Tonight we have a dinner meeting with a new Partner in our group, I mean is there a worse time to have this meeting than on a Monday night?
Then tomorrow, I have to turn around quickly for an 8:00 doctors appointment. Plus today and tomorrow I'm in the office and driving (thankfully traffic is light so far - hopefully that is the case tomorrow as well). And Wednesday I have my swimming at 6:00 AM. But once I get through that stretch the red of the week should be easy. DD gets in at about 4:00 on Wednesday.
I had a good weekend, we went into Chicago to see A Christmas Carol and I got one last lawn mowing in. I really mowed it to mulch any leaves that blew onto it since we raked and get the gas out of the lines for winter storage, but the grass actually needed to be cut.
QOTD: Aside from trying some new cheeses from the French market, it's pretty much standbys.
Breakfast: bagel
Lunch: catered
Dinner: out, fish if they have it
Have a great day, all!

I just ground up the cooked pork pieces, added some finely chopped onions and avocado mayo with some salt and pepper. It kind of reminds me of deviled ham in the can.
Good morning Jen and Meneurs,
Hey Jen, how do you do your ham salad. I grind the ham and mix with Dill Relish and Mayo. It was by accident I used the Dill relish. Sent DH to store and that's what he came back with. Everybody loved it so I continue to do it the same. I now think the sweet relish is too sweet. I have to get a tooth drilled today. I think it is just and old filling that needs replaced. Not happy but at least it will be done.
QOTD: Nope there are only 5 I am the only one cookie so I am going back to the basics. I'm not even going to make a cheesecake. Ron likes a Cream puff cake he's aunt used to make so I will do that. And sonce there are only 5 no need for more than 1 desert.
Accountability: I did make it to both my gym classes. If it is full you get on a wait list and if people cancel you get in. I started at number 10 on the wait list on Wednesday and did not get in till 8PM Friday night. She needs to find a way to reprimand habitual cancelers. I like to be prepared and in the mindset that I am going. It sucks not to know till that late.
