My best friend and I both had weight loss surgery years ago. We go out to eat together and fill up so quickly it is comical. Lots of wasted food that we take home and I know a lot of mine goes in the garbabge.

I have a sister who is always coming up with the worst possible diagnosis and I have seen her argue with the doctors when they tell her that is not what it is. Just their personality. I am so glad you mom does not have congestive heart failure and hope the heparin works for her.

I am 76, don't work, live alone, and just take care of my cat. I have help with everything. It bothers me sometimes that I do need help but I have accepted it. I am feeling angry hearing everything that your mom is putting up with.

She has wor ked hard all her life, I am sure, and should not be putting up with that crap. I am behind you 100% stepping in and getting them to make life as easy as possible for your mom.

I wonder if there are not a lot of things that they could do and just are cautious due to malpractice fears. I also know doctors often have a certain attitude that they know it all and nobody really knows it all. I feel most confident when they consult other specialists rather than making all decisions for themselves.

I went through about nine years with my husband's cancer and sometimes had to really fight with the insurance company about treatment options. They did finally assign me a person who coordinated everything for me but it was a nightmare for a while and cost did come into play. I researched on my own and argued when I needed to.

Good job looking after your mom.

Good morning, everybody!

Jen, I hope things resolve well with your Mom. You are right that if she is on blood thinners, she needs to be careful about what she does and will need help.

My plane was a bit late, but I got in at about 4:00. Mostly I have just hung out, my program starts at 1:00 today and I have to go to the gym after a client call this morning.

I don't think that the normies who prepare breakfast can comprehend just how little eggs I am capable of eating, no matter how much I urge them to give me "just a little egg ", I am still overwhelmed. The workers do a great job and are super nice, I just feel bad about the wasted food.

QOTD: I am sure that they do.

Breakfast: ham and eggs

Lunch: pizza

Dinner: fish

Have a great day, all!

PS. Sorry about your mom's situation. People are not always so smart. I hope you don't have to get "ugly" with them but you should be proud of yourself for standing up for your mom!

Good mornin y'all.

we have a vet visit to take Tange to. They just need to weigh her so we can get some preventative stuff.

yesterday was a terrifying day in a way. I won't delve into why as it's political but I am still worried about it.

I'm pretty sure I have thrush in my mouth. It started after the steroid injection. I tried to get in to my doctor but couldn't be seen until my regular check up on 2-28. So I started swishing with apple cider vinegar solution and it's helped immensely. It was just on my tongue.

QOTD: I believe both can be wonderful tools.

B: egg burrito and coffee

L: enchiladas

D: not sure on this one.

Good Morning. I didn't get a chance to read any responses yesterday so I will do that in a little bit.

An update on my mom. She has two blood clots in her right lung, a blood clot in each calf, and her left lower ventricle is pumping at 15%. Her heart rate is back to normal and she is on a heparin drip to help dissolve the clots. Other than that the doctors said she's in great shape for being 80. She does not have congestive heart failure like my sister said. She'll be in the hospital for a few more day at least which she hates, but at least she is getting rest that she needs.

I told my siblings that things need to change when she goes home like my nephew (who lives there) getting rid of the other dog he just brought back home with him from Alaska and half of the farm animals need to go. My stepfather just half asses takes care of them and then *****es about everything getting my mom all worked up. If none of them do anything then I will just have to be the bad guy and takes things into my own hands. People won't be happy but I'll be dam if my mom ends up back in the hospital or worse because of them.

QOTD: Do you think modern medicine uses everything that is available to doctors, or do you think they hold stuff for special situations? Sometimes I think there is stuff out there that could be used to treat different illnesses or conditions, but for whatever reason doctors don't use it or are told not to use it. Like my mom they have her on the heparin drip which they said they would try first to see if it helps dissolve the clots if not then there is a pill they can try and that doesn't work they are a few other things they can do. I guess it's just frustrating when doctors try this and that in hopes one of the things work.

B: coffee

L: tuna salad wrap

D: roasted chicken breast with peas

30 minutes on the treadmill

Have a wonderful day everyone.

One of my favorite things to do is leave Cleveland airport with tons of snow and arrive in Orlando sunshine a few hours later. It really reminds me that winter is going to end. You and Marilyn enjoy your Florida time.
