Good morning, everybody!

Those Yule logs are beautiful.

Wait, where did that weekend go! Evan thought I got to the car dealership on Friday (and there were no repairs needed, just oil change and tire rotation!) the weekend still seemed to fly by. Christmas shopping Friday night, gym and football on Saturday, Christmas shopping and gym on Sunday and BAM! its Monday and I have to get ready for work.

Oh well, we did get a nice surprise, because DD is flying home next weekend for an early Christmas celebration. She will get in Saturday morning and Monday I will bring her into work and then drop her at the airport on Monday night. I was planning to work half a day on Monday, mainly to take my assistant to lunch, but I don't mind working a full day to get DD to the airport.

We are on shutdown the 24th through the 2nd of January, so pretty much everything that needs to get done this year will need to be taken care of this week. It will probably be fairly busy, which should help the week go by quickly. I am ready for the break.

I have a dentist appointment this morning at 10:00 then i will head into the office. No Crossfit tonight.

QOTD: I don't, but it has been a long time since I have seen it, I may need to re-watch.

Breakfast: bagel

Lunch: catered

Dinner: Steak

Have a great day, all!

Your anniversary was great. It is too bad that companies play dirty like that and I am glad that it is not working for them.

There has been a meatloaf hack on the internet lately. You make the meatloaf the same as usual, but you grate an apple and put it in the mix. Supposed to be a moister and better tasting meatloaf. I am going to try it this week and see how it comes out. I always use the old Ann Lander's meatloaf recipe and add a green pepper if I have one.

When I was growing up we had meatloaf the first day my mom found a green pepper in the garden that was ready to pick. When the peppers all came in we had stuffed peppers a lot until they were gone. I was amazed when I found out my friend's mother made stuffed peppers during the winter and bought peppers at the grocery store.

I grew up eating whatever was fresh in the garden during the summer. My mother did not can so we ate canned vegetables from the grocery store. Green beans were 10 cents a can and every other vegetable was cheap. We did not get fresh vegetable until the were in the garden.

Good Monday morning!!! Finally finished the other Yule log. I've actually gotten a few requested from people who want to purchase one. I don't really have extra time this year to make more, but I may just take some orders for next year.

We had a fun time looking through the antique stores last Thursday. Then we went to Confreda Farm's and we picked up two amazing rib eyes. After that we hit the seafood market and grabbed some more goodies. Went home and cooked us an amazing anniversary dinner.

We woke up Friday morning to no internet. Breezeline couldn't get out to us until Saturday morning and come to find out Frontier fiber had been going around "adding" line so they can supply service to our area and apparently they were messing around with lines as it wasn't just us that had no internet. They are desperate for new customers so I think they thought if the current customers of Breezeline were having issues that we would switch. Nope not going to happen.

QOTD: Do you consider the movie Die Hard a Christmas movie? Some say yes and some say no, but I would say yes it is, but more like an action Christmas movie just because it takes place during Christmas. Yes I do watch it every year.

B: coffee and 2 scrambled eggs with ham

L: soup and ham/swiss wrap

D: meatloaf and sweet potatoes

Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning, everybody!

I'm pretty happy because I was able to get my car serviced this morning. That should leave me plenty of time this weekend to snuggle up near the Christmas tree with a blanket and a book. I got out of swimming at about 7:30, went straight to the dealer, and was home by 10:00. Marilyn even found a coupon that i used to save $15.

The rest of the day is mostly going to be Crossfit and checking my email. This weekend, I have Christmas shopping and Crossfit, but otherwise restful family time. Tomorrow I am going to try and watch the Army/Navy game. We have family members on both service sides, but I usually root for Navy. Its kind of exciting that both teams are good this year.

QOTD: My friend Au Contraire went to the epic 1973 Watkins Glen concert: Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and The Band. That would be pretty high on my list. Chrissy saw Peter Frampton in 1976, which is also pretty cool

Breakfast: English muffin

Lunch: egg sandwich

Dinner: TBD

Have a great weekend everybody!

Dylan is one that I would love to attend. When he was young and not known yet, the other singers and actors who knew him thought his voice was so strange that it was hopeless for him to ever have a singing career.

My newest ambition is to learn how to be a great baker. I never did baking partly because I refused to use things like flour, sugar, and butter thinking I was being healthier. Most of the stuff I baked with margarine, protein powder and artificial sweetners was not that good. Now I have time on my hands and not so worried about "bad" foods.

I made a loaf of oatmeal honey bread this week that turned out pretty heavy and dense. Now I am looking for better recipes. What I made does taste good, but I want a nicer texture. Some of my other projects will be lemon cranberry scones, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and pound cake. No mixes, learning how to do it from scratch.

It is fun and I know I can pass some baked stuff off to my nieces and nephews.

good mornin everyone! Happy Friday!

Not much happening today. My niece turned 12 yesterday and her party is Sunday that is also my brothers birthday. So I've got to make two dirt cakes and an egg custard pie tomorrow. Need to get the last minute things for that. We'll probably go to Sam's for eggs and maybe to the dollar tree.

I've got some pics to post but I have to edit em. Will post in a reply!

QOTD: who is your dream concert? Any band or musician in any era,

Mine would have to be either the Beatles or Mozart. Mostly just to experience it. Modern era would be Slipknot.

B: eggs, cheese, and coffee

L: ????

D: shrimp and veggie rice
