QOTD- 2 kitties that are 26 months old. Romeo is a brown spotted tabby and Vee is all black except for a white vee on her belly. I love them dearly. Vee had me out last night trying to find her she didn't come in until 9:30, so I was not happy. Too many predators and I don't want her to be a snack.

Not a good weekend, Saturday I felt like crap all day. Headache, nausea and just not right. Plus this stinking cold is still hanging on. I'm so tired of not feeling good. I went to the store on Sunday and got some more bird seed, my roommate got them some that they love. Songbird Supreme with fruits and nuts and they have gone crazy over it. So now the birds are also spoiled.

I need to go make my mocha and get back to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning menuers ~ Okay, I'll start because I really need to post for accountability and to set intentions so here goes! I took lots of naps over the weekend but was decently productive yesterday. Good news, I woke up to 99% clear skin and just 1 itchy little spot. I never, ever want to go through that again, it was awful. Today I am road tripping to my conference. I need to shower, finish packing and hit the road. There is a meet and greet ****tail hour event this evening that should be fun for a bit.

QOTD - Pet round up! What fur balls live with you? I have a 17 y/o ginger kitty we call Bubs, who apparently has 10 lives and is doing very well right now. I really thought we were going to lose him a month or so ago. LOVE HIM!! And sweet Chloe our malti-poo little girl. She is 15ish and acts like a puppy. She is very affectionate and loves everyone.

Accountability - I was an angel with food yesterday, but the scale says 170.0 today, yuck! 6 hour drive today but will take a walk after I check in.

B= coffee, protein bar

l = in n out on the road

d - TBD

s- quest chips, cuties, edamame

Have a great day!

Good Morning!

Well, wasting an afternoon touring two ( horrible ! ) apartments taught me to be grateful for what I have lol.

Good thing cuz moving would have been a bear.

So like it or not I have to knuckle down and fight on several fronts to pay for this place ( and to force the landlord to finally make it livable ).

After seeing apartments I realized driving an hour plus then charging just bought hedge clipper-on-a stick would make it DARK so stayed home instead to enjoy a beautiful sunny afternoon reading and nibbling D on the daybed ( porch swing converts ).

My eyes ( as always ) were far bigger than my pouch ? ended up with 1/2 piece pizza , a small glass good wine , and a few bites of tabbouleh . Midnite snack later was pastry and tea ? no exercise to speak of

Today need to find lawyer(s) and do about five other time sucking and frustrating but necessary things downtown, chiro in the afternoon, composting and planting ( early ) this morning and moving the car before 11:30.

And scanning and electronically uploading long answer to landlords motion ( Court Clerk wouldn?t take it in person citing a technicality)

If I can get it into the record w/o having to ask the Judge ( and him probably saying no ) it will be a huge WIN . ( we?ll see )

Honestly- could be worse.

B- leftover pizza , pre- made salads , contents of samosas and chile verde soup

L- white chicken chili or pret falafel lentil hot wrap contents

S- coffee latte

Exercise - hopefully a long walk home from Chiro.

D- Osso Bucco ! ( one of my favorites) salad n remaining red wine

Days R really getting shorter - can't believe it's nearly 7:30 and still half -dark and sunset is at 6:30 PM !

Have a great day !

Good morning! A quick post and we are off to be Softball grandparents. Cheering the team on. Girls softball is a trip. They are all screaming chants, laughing, tears and they get Walk Out music! My granddaughter's song is PINK!'s Fight Song.

Yesterday was really good except I did eat the last of the kettle corn. Yay. All water, all day. Made all our meals. Very protein forward. 58 minutes of exercise, 10,066 steps. Finished my book. Did a few house chores.

Today Roger is going to Ocktoberfest with friends. The guys all have Lederhosen to wear. Should be hysterical and pictures to follow. I'm not going. Loud noise, contained spaces, beer. All three are not high on my list of fun. Maybe I'll finally clean out the bathroom cabinet. I've been making good progress with sorting and cleaning drawers. Oh and I am wearing my first Halloween shirt of the year. Gotta get them in rotation before October is over!

QotD: I'm begging to be alone. Making all sorts of plans. Then when I am alone I am great for an hour or so. Then, I start to think I have no friends. Soon, I'm sure nobody loves me. Depression sets in. #Insecurity LOL.

bites today...

B: I have jerky and protein crackers packed

L: last of my pork chop

D: TJ's sous vide chicken thighs and something...

Peace

PS. I cannot believe it is already Sunday and I have to go to workout class in less than 24 hours!!! These weeks are screaming by.

I was the oldest of 13 children and we were a year apart. A baby every year for the first ten years, then skipped a year and had twins the next year. When I was 12, I had 11 little brothers and sisters around. It was a two-bedroom, one-bath house. They did end up building an addition with another bedroom for my parents and put a toilet and shower in the basement.

I loved to be with the family, but also loved to be alone with a book and often snuck off to the bedroom and shut the door so I could read my books in peace and quiet. After I was married and living with my husband in a one-bedroom apartment, I wanted him to put a light and chair in a closet for a reading area. My husband thought that was so weird and would not do it.

Being on the telephone feels like work to me. I would rather be alone and use the voice function on the phone to send my texts if I don't feel like typing. I am living alone now, and sort of dread thinking I might end up living with one of sisters, if I can't take care of myself as I get older. I have people who come over or call daily and I am glad that they do check on me, but I am most at peace when alone.

My dad was like that, very gregarious in company - total ham, but an introvert to his core. Small doses of people are great and fill me in other ways for sure. I love connections with people *****ally get me where I can be myself.

I?m definitely an introvert too though social even gregarious in company.

I'm SO glad Ur rash is better and it's not shingles !

I got the two part shingles vaccine after my elder cousin caught it and suffered for weeks - it hurt my shoulder for a week honestly but the protection is worth the pain I think .

Mornin' All!

cooler today (mid-60s), which I actually love - but way too windy to bike. Again. Crap. I'll see what's going on over at the gym. If not much, then I guess I'll be walking again today. We might go out for coffee later this morning. Otherwise..? I made a big dent in my classes yesterday - did some reading, and watched a documentary about the 1953 coup in Iran (this particular class is on the Cold War). It was great - and really explained a lot about what happened later in Iran (e.g., the 1979 revolution) - as well as what's going on today.

my cousin who lives in Seattle will be in town tomorrow. She and her husband are visiting some relative of his near the Wisconsin/Minnesota border, and will be en route to Chicago to visit another relative of his, so they're spending the night here. I haven't seen her since 1997, so this will be great!!

QOTD - what you described - being around people zaps you of your energy - being alone re-charges you - that's all classic introvert (the psychological definition, not the popular definition). Also fits with your feelings about talking on phones - not liking talking on the phone is also very common among introverts (I'm raising my hand over here - I'm the same, and definitely lean toward the introverted side!). So anyway, yes - I enjoy being alone. Although there are times I like being around people, too, but not all the time - it wears me down after a while and I have to get away to re-charge. So although I'm not 100% introvert, I definitely lean in that direction.

I did OK food-wise yesterday, but not great. I ended up where I need to be calorie-wise, but at my maintenance level. I need to come in under that, since I'm trying to lose weight. Why is this so damn hard? But...I'll try again today!

coffee with half & half

skyr with fruit

protein muffin

Lomo Linda taco filling with tomatoes, plain Greek yogurt, and salsa

protein shake (?)

dinner TBA

have a great day, everyone!

G
ood Morning!

Seeing an apartment today - SUCH a New Yorker thing to do always trying to upgrade.

Twenty blocks south of me on a busy street ( N) higher up (P) A LOT less expensive and with real radiators ( therefore presumably HEAT)

Last winter here we had NONE from the building just space heaters and no building air conditioning all summer either ( Columbia University is a total slumlord all kidding aside )

It MIGHT have a larger terrace, definitely has higher ceilings but no doorman , but probably no sliver of a river view either.

I?ve googled it about a hundred times trying to figure out the view and terrace sun exposure then saw the fine print that what I was looking at was a ?similar apartment staged ?.

There WILL guaranteed be a crowd and I?m in a terrible place to be applying ( credits in the toilet ) so it?s all probably moot but I?m excited ( can you tell ?)

Finishing cleaning out fridgidairs and composting today planting last boxes on sunny side and trees then seeing apartment and out to the island .

Oh and unpacking car first w no cart thanks to Super.

B- probably bagel w salmon again

L and D - grab something probably a lobster roll out East

Exercise - cutting two sides and top if possible of 165 foot long 8 foot tall hedge. Uploading about 100 pages one by one in the library .

Need to buy a battery for the outdoor radio today and a scanner/ printer !!! No plants !
Also socks, tights, thong underpants ( panty line in yoga pants says OLD LADY lol!!! Plus it looks terrible ) and warm PAJAMAS!!

Yes I forgot ALL of the ABOVE last time I drove out because I AM an old lady lol!

Have a great day !
