Thanks Shelia. I always wondered whether that was Italian or West Virginia custom. It was more than 50 years ago, so they must have changed something in how they are grown.

To be fair, after we finished and walked away I thought about it and realized it was a stupid move. There was no guarantee those ropes would held. We were in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. Nobody is maintaining that stupid swing.

these El Milagro chips are good. I've been making black bean dip lately. My current favorite snack is five of those tortilla chips dipped in the black bean dip (so 2-3 T of dip). Both are great!

My grandma did that to cucumbers when she cut them. I admit cucumbers used to have a bitter end, but nowadays (I don't know what they have done or how they grow them) I don't taste any bitterness, you can practically eat the whole cucumber.

I think I'm a definite NO on that swing. I'm not good with heights and even though I can see you can get below and it's a graded slope, I see me flying out of that thing and my body being flung to the bottom of a ravine. Not that I am being dramatic or anything...
