Good morning! Looks like winter outside (for us at least). Yipee. Amy, I remember when you left the OH conference all jazzed up about your options. Love how you channeled that into action.

Accountability for yesterday. M&M's. I've been carrying half a single serve size bag in my purse since I took the girls to the movies last week and yesterday I decided I needed to eat them. At least it was after I put in the time in the gym. Move calories 679, exercise minutes 136, steps 12,777. Other than that, I stuck to my meal plan. I only managed 92 grams of protein. Need to better that today. Should have chosen chicken over M&M's. My weight is down but it's because I am dehydrated. My hands look like bird claws. all bone and veins. Ick.

QoTD: Start your day with a plan. Food/exercise/water. I decide what activity I am going to do the night before and dress for it when I wake up. I make sure that I have what I need in the fridge and pantry to be successful. And I'm not always successful, but being intentional about things seems to drive me to a higher success level.

Today I am taking my 3 mile walk route. Wi**** was as pretty as Sheila's. But it's effective. Then lunch at home followed by book club. And I will drink lots and lots of water.

Bites today

B: 1 egg, 2 slices bacon, a little banana

L: last of the leftover cod. Think I'll toss it with the Miso salad mix I have from TJ's.

D: TJ's braised beef roast, a little mashed potatoes, sauteed summer squash with parm sprinkled on it

Peace!

I've been thinking about the work walk since yesterday. I was going for a 25 minute walk and it was stressing me out. Why can't we take 10-15 without feeling guilty or stressed? You mentioned not making it a priority and it made me think of Sheila. She schedules her workouts on her calendar and sticks to it no matter what. I could do that at work, why not? Make it a walk appointment instead of waiting for an opportunity.

Good morning, everybody!

Sheila - Costco has 2024 Star Wars, Marvel and Disney Lego Advent Calendars, but no Harry Potter. I checked and Kohl's sells the Harry Potter calendars. We picked up a Star Wars calendar, I'm not sure if Marilyn is going to go to Kohls for the Potter.

I went to the Master's swim class this morning. it's in an office building, so it took me bit to find where I was going , but a very nice lady from security led me in the correct way. I liked the facility - they have lockers, showers, hot tub, towels and most important, it's warm inside. Kind of a tropical feel very welcome on a cold fall morning.

Basically, they are open for 4 slots during the week and have two workouts. I can just choose which days I want to go to do the 2. There is a long (2400 meters) program, and a shorter (LOL) program (1600) meters. Since I was late and hadn't swam for awhile, I scaled back the 1600 meter program to about 1300 meters. The coach watched me for a bit, he said that I can swim well enough to stay with the masters program.

His main tip was that when i turn my head to breathe I drop my left arm too much and that drops my hips and costs me momentum. So, I am working on not dropping my left arm until I can see my right arm coming over the top.

Today doesn't seem too busy. I have some calls, Crossfit and Happy Hour tonight, which will be our first in 4 weeks. After the New Year, I think that we will go to every other week.

QOTD: This is for first year people, only. Everybody maintains a bit different. Popcorn and Protein bars are the first step on the road to regain. You will hear a lot of people say "would you eat chicken and broccoli?" It's good advice for dealing with Head Hunger, but sometimes you will actually be hungry. If that is the case then eat the chicken and broccoli.

Pictures are beautiful Cambodia. I can't post the Killing Field pictures, they are just too sad.

Breakfast: Egg Sandwich

Lunch: Turkey sandwich

Dinner: Steak

Have a great day, all!

Good Morning Any and Meneurs,

I love that this board has been turned around and yesterday we did a full 360° turn. I love all the WL talk. It is one thing I can talk about here but try to avoid in life because I don't want anyone thinking I am bragging or complaining about weight. I have never seen a Meme so true in my life. Please someone explain why it is so freaking easy. I got into another pair of jeans from last season. Not gonna lie they are a little tight, but they are on and motivating me to get this excess off. Another busy day today. Trying to get to Walmart at lunch to get coffee creamer. I like going there because it is in the back of the store, and I park on the far side of the parking lot, so I get in some steps without really trying. I got to get my brothers haircut and take my mom to cards at 7. I cut a spaghetti (here is the recipe) squash in half and filled it with Fetta and mixed cherry tomatoes with pesto garlic and parmesan cheese and I'll roast it.

QOTD: HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE. Schedule it!!! I also know that it helps if you stop drinking 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after meals, but I struggle with that one.

Accountability: I was too busy to snack, so I stuck to the menu

TSS: 6 years 10-months 5-days 166.6 Lowest (129.4)

B: Coffee with SF Coffee-mate pumpkin spice creamer

MS: Chobani zero sugar cookies and cream Greek yogurt, Strawberrys and blueberries

CB: Coffee with SF Coffee-mate pumpkin spice creamer

L: bunless cheeseburger and butternut squash

D; Spaghetti squash and a NY strip

Exercise: Dog walking

Water and Vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and 500mg of Magnesium. I also use MiraLAX and fiber in my first coffee of the day.

Have a great day my friends.

Brightest blessings

Chrissy

G'morning all!

Yma, you are a rock star for making a U turn on your 90 lb regain. Many people would have thrown in the towel.

I had an RH episode yesterday. Was at a restaurant for lunch and had their special that was turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwich. For dessert I shared half of a brownie slice; it was very small. While out and about I decided to run a couple of errands; Target then Trader Joe's. When leaving TJ I was walking like I was drunk, I couldn't put one foot straight in front of the other. This hasn't happened to me in a while, simply because I had made sure I had protein in my stomach. My stomach didn't feel good for the rest of the afternoon.

QOTD: don't wait till you have lost the weight to incorporate exercise. This was the best tip I received from the center's nutritionist while I was going there the first couple of months. She said as soon as you are cleared to workout make it part of your daily schedule . Well, three weeks after my surgery I started and haven't stopped in 7 years.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sandwich (no bread), few chips, 1/2 brownie
  • Mixed nuts
  • Protein Icecream - McFlurry Oreo
  • E: strength training

Happy hump day!
