I worked for EDS, the computer company run by Ross Perot. You got two weeks off starting the first year. You were required to take the two weeks off all together. He believed you needed the first week to get over the stress of work and the second to actually enjoy a vacation and relax. It was an additional week every five years. But the rule was one two-week vacation a year.

I see people who make their vacation really a stressful experience by doing things like working late the last day, driving for too long when tired and worrying about being late for a plane or other event. Now there are also cell phones and tablets and many people never disconnect from work for even a week. My vacations were always very flexible. When I travel with other people, I sometimes see them so stressful. Around here many people drive to Ocean City or Myrtle Beach. We all run into each other at the beach and the men often have conversations where they compete on who drove there the fastest.

It is amazing to me that someone I consider well educate, like a teacher, can be so stupid as to make a post like that. My sister worked in a bank and told me stories about teachers and their strange ideas about money. They would come in with their check and ask to cash the check and make a mortgage payment and a savings deposit. But they wanted the cash first and then count out the money for savings and the payment. They just could not comprehend that it could all be done at once.

A FEMA worker in Florida was fired for skipping homes with Trump signs. There is an old saying that common sense is not that common.

After surgery I bought a Magic Bullet and wore out three of them in the first two years. The Instant Pot is my go-to appliance now. I am old enough to remember a world before microwaves. When we got a microwave, I cooked everything in it and ruined a lot of meat dishes. It quickly became the coffee warmer.

The Instant Pot and the Air Fryer really do what we thought the microwave would do fifty some years ago. They have made cooking so much easier for the modern generation.

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week.

Good morning, everyone!

To commemorate Veterans Day we did this workout called Chad 1000x. The full RX workout is 1000 20 inch box step-ups with a 45/30 pound pack.

There was a supplemental training program to build up to it, but between our trip to Asia and swimming, I didn't do the extra training. Instead, I scaled to 45 minutes of step-ups without a pack. I ended up getting 536 in.

My calves are a little sore, but no joint pain or anything like that. All in all I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Hopefully Chrissy doesn't kick me this weekend.

Last night I found out that CrossFit is going to be closed Thanksgiving morning, so I signed up for a Turkey Trot. It's early (8:00) and has a pancake breakfast.

QOTD: Probably the microwave, I eat a lot of leftovers.

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: Chicken sandwich

Dinner: Butter Chicken and Naan

Have a great day, all!

29 years!, wow. We made the same change. Since we didn't take away previously accrued time, the employees seemed kind of neutral about the switch.

How long have you been with your company? We switched to ?unlimited? time off a few years ago, which is really just a balance sheet change for companies and puts the requirement to be sure to take time off on the person. I?ve been with my company almost 29 years so I say I have 5 weeks pto and try to take that amount off (I am very good about it!) but when I hit 30, I plan on upping that to 6 weeks.

I like to benchmark against other companies that still have defined vacation or sick time.

Good Morning, it sure feels like Thursday but Wednesday it is. It's great to have lots of time off, one thing I do miss about my old job for sure. Now we get two weeks from year 1-5 then it goes to three from like years 5-10. I hope some day that is improved.

Topic: What's on your Wednesday Menu?

Finally, the middle of the week. It looks like I'll be taking half days on some Fridays and then still have to figure out when to take 5 more days off after that. I get 6 weeks and one day off each year and even with all the time I've already taken I still have some left and it's use it or lose it. I might not be working all that much in December since I already have time off scheduled from earlier in the year. LOL.

Has anyone heard about the Cheshire, CT Special Education teacher who posted a rant on her supposed private group Snapchat over the weekend threatening to kill or beat-up anyone who voted for Trump? I understand people are upset that Trump won, but holy **** some people are really going crazy.

Whether you agree with who was elected or not you do not go on social media threatening to kill people because of who they voted for. The parents of the students at the school are up in arms about this. The teacher has potentially lost her job and has probably blackballed herself from teaching due to what she said. I personally didn't like Trump or Harris, and I voted for an independent that was on the ballot, but I sure the heck am not going to threaten to kill anyone because Trump won, nor would I do that if Harris won.

QOTD: Since having WLS what kitchen device have you used more now than you did before WLS? I would have to say my Instant Pot. I make everything from hardboiled eggs to yogurt and everything in between. It's like a set it and forget it. Saves so much time for me.

B: 2 hard boiled eggs with ham

L: leftover tacos (yes I gave in and got tacos yesterday)

D: bok choy soup

Have a great day everyone!!!

I think Shock wave also does a similar thing with creating micro injuries.

Have they done any dry needling? When my shoulder was healing, they would to that when my pain was high. It sucked that day and the next day but did help after that. It was explained to me as acupuncture (the needles) meets electricity and the electricity creates micro injuries that the white blood cells rush to heal so it boosts your immune system. I found it very useful
