Good morning all and welcome to thirsty Thursday,

I sent Paula a thirst trap this morning with half of a hot dog in my belly button. I'm glad she appreciates my sense of humor.

I'm making moves, doing it, doing it...

Today will bring me to the DMV for the third time. I need to get my new license plate and since it's a disabled plate, it's making it difficult. Also, the fact that NY calls the title tag, 'safety inspection' has complicated things unnecessarily.

Tomorrow, I bring my new dog home. It's from a shelter in my neighborhood where I've been volunteering. I'm cleaning my house today so he will feel right at home. I'm really excited and happy to introduce a dog to my life. He's a 50lb collie mutt, found in an abandoned trailer last weekend in Tennessee.

QOTD- I regularly use protein shakes as meal supplements. I utilize them on the go or if I'm not hungry. When I'm not hungry, I can at least gulp down a protein shake. My preferred brand is Fairlife chocolate.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, coffee.

L: 4 ribs, salad.

D: Boston Fish Market with my mom and sis for an early birthday celebration.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

What did you have for toiletries that they confiscated? That's crazy. Have a safe trip.

Good morning, everyone!

we're in the airport and on the way to Pittsburgh. Forgot my reading glasses and had half of my toiletries confiscated, but I'm on my way.

Topic: Whats on Your Thursday Menu

I have been procrastinating on cleaning my office. When I am not working it tends to become a place to put things down and forget about them. Today is completely going to be for that project. My dream is to someday have nothing on my To Do list but don't believe that ever really happen.

For most of my life, meal planning has mostly been looking at resturant menus. Since the COVID lockdown, it has been Ubereats, Doordash, and Grubhub. I am working on changing that and doing more home cooking so I can control what goes into it. Also facing how much I really spend delivery charges, tips, and pretty inflated prices when you order meals online.

Yesterday I made a cabbage soup with ground beef, cabbage, tomatoes and onions. It turned out really watery and bland so I went online to see what to do with soup that is too thin. One sites suggested a roux. Something I never tried before. It is just heating up butter and stirring in flour. I gave it a shot and was amazed how much it helped the soup.

I have been watching cooking shows and trying to get my food to taste better and keep me more interested in preparing and eating meals. In the past, I would have ordered something delivered if my cooking disappointed me. I concentrated on work and other activities most of my life and cooking was a boring task. Now I have time to play with cooking and learn techniques. It is fun.

QOTD: Do you like to try cooking new foods or pretty much stick with the same items everyday?

It is Friday Eve woohoo so close to the weekend. The mornings have been rather chilly here in CT and going out at 5am to milk a goat kinda sucks in the cold. I told my husband time to breed her and dry her up for the Winter. Since goats are pregnant for 5 months that will give me time to rearrange my milking area and get a machine hooked up instead of hand milking.

Each night I have decided to take 20-30 minutes and do some sort of cleaning/organizing in the house. Last night I cleaned an area that had different types of wrapping paper thrown around it. I threw some of it out and the rest got rolled up and placed in an old hamper. While it doesn't seem like much my husband noticed right away.

QOTD: Who still uses protein drinks or powder as a meal replacement? The first year after my revision I would drink 2 protein drinks a day, but then kind of stopped doing that. The last three weeks I've been adding collagen protein to my morning coffee and just today I decided to start taking a premier protein shake with me to work as a replacement for my breakfast.

B: protein shake

L: salad with sliced chicken

D: not 100% sure, but I might make some more bok choy soup

Have a wonderful day everyone.
