Finally, the middle of the week. It looks like I'll be taking half days on some Fridays and then still have to figure out when to take 5 more days off after that. I get 6 weeks and one day off each year and even with all the time I've already taken I still have some left and it's use it or lose it. I might not be working all that much in December since I already have time off scheduled from earlier in the year. LOL.

Has anyone heard about the Cheshire, CT Special Education teacher who posted a rant on her supposed private group Snapchat over the weekend threatening to kill or beat-up anyone who voted for Trump? I understand people are upset that Trump won, but holy **** some people are really going crazy.

Whether you agree with who was elected or not you do not go on social media threatening to kill people because of who they voted for. The parents of the students at the school are up in arms about this. The teacher has potentially lost her job and has probably blackballed herself from teaching due to what she said. I personally didn't like Trump or Harris, and I voted for an independent that was on the ballot, but I sure the heck am not going to threaten to kill anyone because Trump won, nor would I do that if Harris won.

QOTD: Since having WLS what kitchen device have you used more now than you did before WLS? I would have to say my Instant Pot. I make everything from hardboiled eggs to yogurt and everything in between. It's like a set it and forget it. Saves so much time for me.

B: 2 hard boiled eggs with ham

L: leftover tacos (yes I gave in and got tacos yesterday)

D: bok choy soup

Have a great day everyone!!!

I've been here for 28 years, and I only get 20 days off. That includes sick time bereavement, any reason I am out of the office. If it was too terrible I would not still be here. Sometimes I wish I had a government job. They are off all the time.

I don't know if I want to go down the creami rabbit hole. LOL. It would really be more for my husband than me. Don't get me wrong I do like a good ice cream, but my husband could eat ice cream every single day if it were in the house.

How long have you been with your company? We switched to ?unlimited? time off a few years ago, which is really just a balance sheet change for companies and puts the requirement to be sure to take time off on the person. I?ve been with my company almost 29 years so I say I have 5 weeks pto and try to take that amount off (I am very good about it!) but when I hit 30, I plan on upping that to 6 weeks.

I like to benchmark against other companies that still have defined vacation or sick time.

29 years!, wow. We made the same change. Since we didn't take away previously accrued time, the employees seemed kind of neutral about the switch.

It will be 15 years this December that I've been with my company. Ironicly my work anniversary is also my birthday which this year I will be 50.

We start off with 2 weeks PTO time and 48 hours of floating holiday time. Since we are a part of the trash industry, we only get 6 holidays off and the rest are made up with floating holidays. Then at 5 years we get another 2 weeks of PTO time and at 10 years we get another year of PTO time. So, if one makes it to 10 years with the company you end up with 5 weeks PTO time and 48 hours of floating holiday time. Bereavement, jury duty, military, and anything else has their own time off policy. We do have some pretty good benefits here.

This is a good policy! We do still have bereavement and jury duty as separate and there's a whole parental leave policy as well. We are also on the only 6 day observed holiday and the stretch from January to May is so so so long, lol

Good morning, everyone!

To commemorate Veterans Day we did this workout called Chad 1000x. The full RX workout is 1000 20 inch box step-ups with a 45/30 pound pack.

There was a supplemental training program to build up to it, but between our trip to Asia and swimming, I didn't do the extra training. Instead, I scaled to 45 minutes of step-ups without a pack. I ended up getting 536 in.

My calves are a little sore, but no joint pain or anything like that. All in all I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Hopefully Chrissy doesn't kick me this weekend.

Last night I found out that CrossFit is going to be closed Thanksgiving morning, so I signed up for a Turkey Trot. It's early (8:00) and has a pancake breakfast.

QOTD: Probably the microwave, I eat a lot of leftovers.

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: Chicken sandwich

Dinner: Butter Chicken and Naan

Have a great day, all!
