What's on Taco Tuesday's Menu
Another Monday is in the books. Tuesday what shall you bring to us all. Tacos sound so good today, but I might just stick to the turkey I have since I cooked a turkey breast on Sunday and it gives us a few days' worth of leftovers.
Nothing much going on today which is nice for a change work has been quiet with the outages done for the year. Only other thing that has to be planned is a Christmas luncheon.
I've been putting a collagen protein in my morning coffee for three weeks and it's rather amazing how soft and smooth my skin feels. My skin was looking old and feeling dry.
QOTD: Alcohol I know this is a sensitive subject with some, but how has your alcohol consumption changed since having WLS? While I would have an occasional drink pre-WLS (never drank beer and still don't) I was never really a big drinker. After I had the band done in 2003, I still didn't really drink much, but I found after I had my revision in 2015 to RNY I definitely drink more while it is mainly wine it is still alcohol. It is something I have been working on each month. I have improved greatly, but I know deep down drinking even a couple of glasses a week sets me back on my weight loss. Stress is a big trigger for me and daily meditation has been helpful.
B: 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and coffee
L: Turkey and gravy (unless I give in and get tacos)

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

I never was a real drinker. When we went out I would order drinks with fruit or ice cream. My husband said it was much cheaper to take me to the Dairy Queen and I actually enjoyed that more. I used to have one or two drinks. After surgery I get light headed from half a drink. Especially if I do not eat before. I have an arrangement with my nephew. I order the fancy drink with things like pineapple juice and little umbrellas. I drink a small amount of it and then Kenny finishes it for me. He is always so happy when I order a drink because he knows he will actually drink most of it.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good Morning Jen and Meneurs,
I love the photo of you mom. She is in her happy place. Today I took a cookie to my car wash lady. She is so nice so every so often After I make a batch of cookies, I take her one. Then on really cold days I take her Hot Cocoa. She loves when Rudy is in the car. Today I have a manicure at lunch and tonight I have to run Mom to bowling. 2 days till I get to hanf with Jim and Marilyn. Looking forward to some time away from work.
QOTD: I recently did a dry October thinking the alcohol was killing my efforts to lose some of the gain. It did not make a difference on the scale. So, I will go back to my social intake and every so often I will go a little crazy. I love a good bourbon and 2 is usually enough. 3 puts me in my happy place and four will hurt in the morning. Live and learn.

Stop and Shop had shady brook turkey breast on sale for .99cent a pound. I bought 4 of them. Three are in the freezer. The one I made on Sunday I took butter, fresh sage, parsley, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper mixed it all up good and put it under the skin and a little on top. I also cook all turkeys in an oven bag just because it cuts out so much time. It was so moist and delicious.
It was such a chilly weekend that smelling that turkey cooking and the heat from the oven was so nice.

Good afternoon everyone,
it's been a very busy day so far. PT, Walmart, and an X-ray on my shoulder. My pain levels are atrocious. I'm an inch away from crying at any point. Just so so exhausted from it. Today's PT was pretty simple. Heat, tens unit and he tried some manipulation to the tendons to loosen them up. Ouch! My back and legs is also ouch.
oh well. Life is life.
The,rest of the day should be pretty easy going. I do have laundry but may wait until tomorrow. I've got a dragon to make that I just got the supplies for today. An order from a friend for a set in anodized aluminum that is also sitting in the mail box right now,
QOTD: I don't drink and never have. The most I've had is a ****tail with dinner but the last one of those was 15 years ago. I've never been drunk in my life. I'm just not a fan. My late uncle was an extreme alcoholic (and drug addict). It taught me a lot. I am in no way against people drinking...it's just not for me. I smell it and smell my uncle, I can't unlink it in my brain.
food is ehh.
eggs cheese and coffee
chicken, popcorn and 2 pretzels...oh and 1/3 of a cucumber
dinner is unknown.
dad joke time.

Have they done any dry needling? When my shoulder was healing, they would to that when my pain was high. It sucked that day and the next day but did help after that. It was explained to me as acupuncture (the needles) meets electricity and the electricity creates micro injuries that the white blood cells rush to heal so it boosts your immune system. I found it very useful
