G'morning all!

JB - wishing you a very happy birthday in the new decade, and very happy you get to spend it with your dad. As we say in Italy "Sei come il buon vino, più invecchi, più migliori!" You are like a good wine, the older you get the better you get.

We have a concrete person coming today to talk about the driveway. The guy who was working on our side recommended him. Not sure but when somebody gets too pushy I back off and don't wanna do it. The original guy is too pushy that we have to use his guy if we wanna do the driveway. We'll see today and DH has given me the veto power. We figured out when we did a huge remodel 12-15 years ago we need to decide before hand who has the veto power on each project. Otherwise sparks will fly.

QOTD - I have no recollection of my 21st bday, maybe because for us 21 and being able to drink legally was not a thing. I know I was in college and living in Venice. I vividly remember my 25th because I remember thinking holy moly that's a 1/4 of a century.

My meals yesterday:

Is there a drinking age in Italy?

18, but it's not enforced. In Italy wine is introduced to kids at meal time and by the time you are 18 drinking alcohol is not that big of a deal.
And then you get somebody like me who has had wine at the table since she was 5 and can't stand the taste of alcohol. I vividly remember opting for coke instead of wine with my dinner and my dad was so disappointed calling me uncultured.

Not much going on here. I have finally got my little girl to go out the cat door. She is willing to come in it, but doesn't like going out so I finally held it open and she went out. That is a win! This is the same cat door that doesn't recognize their chips so I just use tape to keep it open. But at least I can get it to lock when I don't want them going out. Other than that I wish I hadn't wasted the time and money on it.

We have an air quality alert today, high ozone and smoke from the fires. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm looking forward to the rain.

Happy 50th Birthday QJB! Hope you are doing something special to celebrate.

Treatment Day. Mentally, it's been rough lately. I am managing but it sucks.

QOTD- My 21st was insignificant. My friends and I partied, like most other days. I drank 21 shots. The night gets fuzzy after that.

I remember My brother's 21st remember so much more. I took him to Vegas and I made sure it was special. First Class Air, Bentley from the Casino on call, 2br Mirage Penthouse, Amazing Jonathon 1st row; greasing a palm to get him called to "volunteer," bottle service, pool parties.
