G'morning all!

JB - very sorry about your dad, but what a relief he is bring a trooper even with a broken back. That sounds so scary.

We had a very eclectic weekend.

Started Sat with the strawberry festival. Grim, just for you we got the strawberry shortcake. We also tried the strawberry tamales, I expected it to be cold but it was warm and not a thing I would eat again. The line for strawberry pizza was too long, but it was made with mozzarella and strawberries.

Couple of DH's high school friends were in our area (about 1/2 hr inland) and invited us to a music festival they were attending. I was hoping it would be a guys thing but nope, the wives were there too so I had to tag along. The main band was Cheese String. I had never heard of them but that's not a surprise. The people watching was off the charts. I think most people were the original fans; a lot of long grey hair and beard, and a lot of Willy Nelson look alikes. There was a jelly fish floating around and a whole group of people dressed as wood fairies.Everybody was nice and smiling, or completely stoned.

Our Sunday was much more tame by going to the movies to see Wolverine and Deadpool. I'm sure we have missed a lot of movies and storylines in between because didn't get a lot of the relationships but it was an OK movie.

QOTD - mid afternoon and close to dinner time is my witching hr.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Movie popcorn (1/2 of medium size, no butter)
  • Protein icecream - Mexican hot cocoa
  • HB eggs, Parmesan cheese, cherries
  • E: rest day

Happy start of the week!

When I was growing up the Protestant church had a strawberry festival every summer and I was not allowed to go because I was Catholic and could not have Protestant strawberries. I used to secretly think about turning Protestant so I could have those strawberry treats.

The world is different now.

I had never heard of that distinction.
If you see Driscoll strawberries at your stores they are from here, and I promise they are not affiliated with any religion.

I have seen those in the store and will getting only those from now on. LOL. My mother was very Catholic and she was probably more afraid I would meet a Protestant boy there.
