Happy Saturday! What's on your menu?

Good mornin everyone, we made it to the weekend!

Not a lot going on today. We may run and get a roast that's on sale at one of the grocery stores. We're going to the lake again next week before the kids start school on the 15th. I'm not terribly excited about it but it'll be fun for the kids. WE're going to do a picnic. Yesterday was pretty decent except I was so danged tired. My eyes felt really tired and my body...well it hurt. I got a small nap in though. I'm having an increasingly hard time with my right leg. I can barely trim my toenails and even putting lotion on my feet is a painful experience. I see the pain clinic this coming Thursday . I start PT Friday. Hoping it'll help my neck and arm pain. It's why I'm up right now.

QOTD: What are you looking forward to right now? Any exciting plans in the near future?

I'm looking forward to cooler temps. I'm so over this heat **** We made it up to 107° the other day. My body doesn't handle it well.

B: eggs and sausage, maybe a biscuit. Coffee x3

L: small, very small, serving of chicken spaghetti

D: likely shrimp spring roll and a veggie one too.

something I whipped together this morning. Not sure if I'll continue it. I most likely will. 20awg wire so it's small-ish.

Morning Mel & all. Sad news--my dad took a very bad fall and was admitted to the hospital with internal bleeding and a broken back. We're heading out to see him in about an hour. All your good thoughts are welcomed.

QOTD: I am turning the big FIVE-Ohhhhh on Thursday. Assuming all goes okay with Dad, we're heading up to Maine for the weekend so that I can stuff my face with more lobster :)

No idea about food. This was supposed to be my weekend of cleaning out the fridge and getting my butt organized but thats not happening. Plus I don't know how long we'll be out of the house today or what food options we'll have. I'll start with protein coffee and a veggie burger before we leave and I guess we'll take it from there.

Oh wow - that's awful about your dad! He may be laid up for quite a while with a broken back - yikes. I hope he's OK.

Yeah, I will be very curious to know how they plan to rehab him for that! Poor guy.

P.S. A lot of people seem to have a "bad" decade - one they dread and/or just feel old. Mine was 50. Turning sixty was a breeze compared to 50! (my MIL's was 30 - I think that's so funny!)

I am not worried about turning 50 at all. Every decade I have hit was better than the last, so only great things to come, I am sure :)

I'm with you QJB, I found every decade better than the last, starting from about 28, and I have totally embraced the "f*ck it 50s".
