Does that mean if you have 4 screws, each screw should be at a different angle? So they don't all come loose?

The slots in all the screws have to point in the same direction, like the hands of a clock.

Some will argue that having the slots all horizontal is the proper way, but they'll never say that to my face. The only proper way is to have the slots all perfectly vertical.

When I was a kid I went on a backpacking trip to Mt St Helens and in the 70's we all really believed Bigfoot existed. I was sure we would run into him...

Mornin' All!

it's supposed to get up to 87 F today, so as soon as the humidity drops (currently 90 % - UGH!), I'll go out walking or biking. Other than that, I need to start reading a book for my book discussion group next week, and I should probably watch the film for my film discussion group that meets on Friday. An hour of cleaning/purging, too, since I STILL haven't done that...

I have a consult for hip surgery on August 6th! I'm so happy - I thought they'd be scheduling these out for months. The woman asked me if I wanted to be on the cancellation list. I told her Aug 6th was fine - but then said "sure - put me on it!". I'm hoping the surgeries won't be scheduled out super far, either. It'd be nice to have it late fall or over the winter, when I'm pretty much stuck inside anyway...

QOTD: I don't know about proud, but satisfied. That is, with all the prep I'm doing for my mother (helping her update her estate documents and getting them to where they need to go, plus making plans for our trust due to the influx from the inheritance we got from my MIL. We're in discussion with the development office at the university - we want to set up an endowed, named (i.e, for her) scholarship at the vet school, since she was a HUGE animal lover. I think she would have LOVED that!!)

coffee with half & half

skyr or Greek yogurt with fruit

salad with diced chicken, diced peach, and low-cal dressing

protein shake

not sure about dinner - maybe 1/2 a Beyond Burger and some vegetables

have a great day, everyone!

When I asked my PCP for a referral to the knee surgeon, i had an appointment for 7 days later. I had the first knee replacement 28 days after that. It was far faster than I was anticipating.

That's how my lap and surgery was. I had been reading about people needing to go on supervised diets for a year and other long waits so I was shocked when they asked if I was ready to go under the knife 2 weeks after my initial inquiry! I think I waited 6 weeks only because I needed to plan my work absence.

Yup me too my first appointment was October 9, 2017, and my surgery was December 11. Easy peasy. I did have to do the liver shrink diet a week before.

I hope it's quick for me, too - I've heard stories of people having to wait for 6-9 months. I'd rather get it over with - although maybe not during the summer when I like to be outside as much as possible!!

Good mornin y'all!

we have the kids today and I have an appointment with the pain clinic. Shouldn't take too long at the appointment, it's just for a refill. My whole body is a ball of pain. Not that means anything to them, their slogan is "the pain stops here". HA! At least Tylenol 4s do a bit more than the belbuca I was put on to try.

Today is my SIL's birthday so we're probably going to make a cake with the kids to take to her when we drop the kids off this afternoon. So at least it won't be around the house!

QOTD: I am proud of my ability to hope and to just get through what I have. I know I sound negative a lot but when I write it down or type it it is a release of sorts. I let bits of it go. I know it also sounds weird but I am super proud of me letting/cutting toxic people out of my life...even family. That was very hard but I finally did it and it feels so great!

B: eggs, cheese, turkey sausage and coffee x 2

L: I am not sure on this one yet.

D: I am thinking about doing something with some hamburger meat, maybe chili.

cat from a group I'm on in FB.

Good for you cutting toxic people out of your life! Even people who make me feel uncomfortable are on that list. Life is just too short.
