Genius. That's why I always force DH to order the dessert I want and not what he wants.

I miss fried dough, they have no clue what it even is where I live. They think funnel cakes are the be all of fair food. If you know, you know and it's all about the fried dough!!

Funnel cakes are more like fried batter. Fried dough is yeast dough, like pizza dough. Rolled out and flat, fried and covered in tons of powdered sugar - pure heaven!

From the internet because I don't have the real thing - boo! This is how I remember them:

This is similar to fry bread, (except fry bread is not a yeast dough but can be made sweet as pictured here or savory by topping with chili or taco toppings...absolutely delicious and a family favorite when I make it...which is not often lol)

G'morning all!

We have the human food dilemma with Luna! As soon as DH sits on the couch with a bowl of snack Luna is by his side sitting like a princess and very attentive to every morsel that goes from the bowl to his mouth. With me she knows she won't get anything, but she knows she can guilt DH to give her something with those pleading eyes.

I did call my podiatrist yesterday, explained the whole story to the receptionist, and got a very calm "our first open spot is Aug 26th!!!" I was like that's 3 months away, and very kindly was told they can give me the honor to be on their cancellation list in case somebody cancels. So plan B is to go to urgent care after a wog to make sure they see how my foot is. I am positive it's not broken, because I wouldn't have been able to walk on it.

QOTD: mid 70s and sunny please.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Left over chicken fajitas
  • Jello, cold cuts and cheese
  • Street taco innards
  • E: strength training

Happy hump day!

My girlfriend broke her foot across the small bones just before the toes walking on the sand at the beach. And never went to the doc. They found the healed breaks the next time she broke the foot doing the same thing. So, pain tolerance is a real thing, girl. Get it checked out!

During World War II they used this area of the country for factories to build weapons and bombs. It was chosen because we have the heaviest cloud cover in the US and enemy planes would not be able to see the factories through the clouds. Any day when there are no clouds is wonderful to me whether it is 20 or 90 degrees. I guess 75 is about perfect.
