Good morning and Happy Monday,

I heard that 7.3/10 mother's enjoyed the gift they received yesterday. Source: my imagination.

It was a really nice weekend. On Friday, I went out to happy hour with friends. Saturday, I went to a meeting, played cards, went to the art institute, Cherry Circle room and game room at Chicago Athletic Association, and the symphony. Sunday, it was all about mama bear.

QOTD- Most definitely. My family's common misremembered memory relates to discipline and accountability. A glaring example is either my brother or myself were not allowed on a Cedar Point vacation. I can say with 100% certainty that it was me. My brother remembers differently. We can even back up our version with what misbehavior prompted this 'ultimate betrayal' (what I thought was the end of the world at the time.)

Accountability - Chinese pan fried noodles and 1mil mg of sodium. 1/4 Canelé & 1/4 slice of a brookie.

B: 1/2 tomato-oregano bagel w lox, cream cheese and tomato.

L: Rotisserie chicken and g Hughes sf BBQ sauce.

D: salad with rotisserie chicken and bare bones dressing. Lemon, s&p, spray of evoo.

Mornin' All!

this site is having issues again this morning - ugh. At least I finally got on and can post!

I'm feeling horribly bloated this morning. I ate too much yesterday between a pastry in the morning and the Mom dinner last night (well, the dessert part of it anyway), but not enough to feel this way. I'm betting on water retention. I had a leftover chicken Tinga taco for lunch and then a poke bowl for dinner - that's a lotta sodium. I'll just drink a lot of water today and hope I'm feeling better by tomorrow. I'll try to get some exercise, too - even if it's just "riding" one of the stationary bikes at the gym.

one of our cats urinated all over the bed in one of the guest rooms last night. She's never done this before, and I read it's often due to a medical issue. She's got an appt first thing tomorrow morning. I hope it's a medical issue (i.e., a treatable one) and not some new behavior. Otherwise, this is going to be a huge problem.

not much going on today other than heading back over to my mother's this afternoon to be there when an occupational therapist is doing a safety assessment of her apartment. My mother is likely to forget half the things the OT says, so I figure I'd better be there.

QOTD: I don't think so - or at least nothing is coming to mind

coffee with half & half

plain skyr with fruit

leftover poke (there isn't much left, so hopefully not as much sodium intake as yesterday!)

hummus and baby carrots

roasted vegetables with peanut sauce

probably a protein shake somewhere in there

have a great day, everyone!

Did you tell the cat, 'urine trouble!(You're in trouble)'?

Hope the OA visit is very helpful.

My little girl has peed outside of the litter box several times. I did get her checked and she had crystals in her urine so is now on a special diet. But she appears to think that any box is a litter box, she peed in the empty box from Amazon, as well as on my fuzzy blanket on my chair. I took her back to the vet and had her tested and there is nothing wrong. I also had her tested for kidney issues since her sister had kidney failure. Just don't give her an empty box, or leave the blanket out.

QOTD- Not that I can come up with now.

My right eye is giving me problems. It started Saturday with stabbing pain, I was hoping it was nothing and would go away. So I waited until Sunday and I was going to go to urgent care but they weren't open. I have an appointment later today. Not my normal clinic but at least I got an appointment. I'm hoping it's something simple, because I'm not enjoying the pain, or light sensitivity.

I met my new neighbors Friday and enjoyed chatting with them and my next door neighbors. They were having a garage sale so we all stood around and chatted. We were in the shade but it was really hot out. There is a neighborhood lunch tomorrow and I will be going. It's at a really good Italian restaurant.

I really got nothing accomplished this weekend. But enjoyed chatting with the neighbors.

Have a great day everyone!

G'morning all!

Hope y'all had a great relaxing weekend.

Mine was OK. Had a FT with kids. Funny that FaceTimes are now like a present. My kids would not ft me unless it's a bday or Mother's Day. I ft with my mom every time I talk to her, once a week. Maybe because we grew up in the era that FT was science fiction and now that it has come true we take full advantage. For my kids it's "too much!" I take talking to my kids anyway it comes my way, as long as they are talking to me.

We are back into the gloom season in my neck of the woods. No sun, just fog fog fog. On Fri I went inland (about an hr drive) for an errand and temps were around mid 90s, came back home that was barely reaching 60. This is gonna be us till mid Aug.

QOTD: so many things. There were 4 of us siblings and each of us remembered the events in a different way. It's almost like we grew up in 4 different households. Nowadays when I go visit my mom and reminiscent about certain things I'm always surprised she remembers them differently.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee & overnight rolled oats
  • Sushi
  • Few chocolates sent by the kids
  • Fluffy yogurt, blueberries, raspberries
  • E: rest day

Happy start of the week.

Good morning!

Boy, OH is sketchy for me this morning. So I'll be fast

Great Mother's Day for me. Good food, good company, lots of laughter. 10,357 steps in and 55 minutes of exercise.

QoTD: Our biggest sibling disagreement is who is more like Mom.

I'm out...this site is crazy this morning. Have a great week.

Peace.

I am the oldest in a family of 13 children. I have a good memory of what actually happened and just shake my head when I hear versions of events that have been doctored to make some people look better. My mom liked to tell stories and they changed slightly each time. The younger ones heard her version so have established that as what happened.

I would have never let a 13 year old chop wood, but maybe if they were closer to 17. It would still scare me, but I also have never chopped wood and probably never picked up an ax. I have used a chainsaw a few times, but worried that it would slip and ended up buying an alligator chain saw when is safer.

I am sometimes amazed at how much I did forget from childhood and when others bring it up it comes back to me, but not that clear.
