Weight is not the issue for this sister (who could probably lose 30lbs but looks fine). It's her sedentary lifestyle. She had issues/surgeries on her neck and shoulder ages ago (20+years), so she may be physically guarded still? There may be some mental health issues she won't talk about, I would not be surprised.

I was having the discussion of if you don't use it you lose it with DH. We both get op in the morning sore as heck, no matter what. You can't find a more active couple (not bragging, but in comparison to our parents' generation we are a lot more active than them at our age) and still in the morning we are both limping and groaning. It takes a good 5 minutes to get all the joints going smoothly. I can't even imagine how it would be if you don't use those muscles. I am so grateful for WLS and my chance of living an active life.

To me you two are a couple of kids and I did not think you would be sore in the mornings. I get up very carefully and let things get lubricated. I know you two are much more active than I was at your age and you should end up being in better shape all through your lives.

Heated mattress pad, even in the summer, I keep it low. It doesn't eliminate the "oh I really worked out hard" soreness always but it really has eliminated most of the "regular" wake up and get going aches and creaks

For at least 20 years I had a Jacuzzi tub and used it every day. I think that might be why I never felt sore. My bed is queen sized and I use the heated pad on one side. If I get too warm, I sleep on the cooler side. I do use the heated pad year-round. I keep thinking about a whirlpool tub again, especially the one for older people that is walk-in tub.

We have sleepme that keeps the mattress cool during summer and warm during winter. I do have a small heated pad to keep under my hip (my sorest part), but it's getting warm and the heat pad is annoying. But yes, I should keep it on low so less soreness pain.

Oh, I had to look that up. It sounds very cool (except maybe when you have it warming things, lol).
