Penciling you in for some light looting. I might wear a renaissance ball gown to kill 2 birds with one stone though.

I bet if there was a ham sculpture, a la ice sculpture, you would go.

In the 80's I joined a picket line in from of the Horseshoe Hotel and Casino. I think the maintenance were on strike. It was one of the few casinos that had quarter craps. We picked up signs and walked the line but as soon as we were able to get close to the door, we ditched the signs and ran in. Needless to say it was not busy so those ****tail waitresses kept them coming and by the time we were leaving we were so unsober that the picketers didn't want to harass us.

Horseshow in Vegas? I used to love to eat there. Wonderful buffets.

I'd hate to throw a brick at you if I saw you crossing a picket line. I'd still throw it, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

Queen, I'm sorry to hear about the GERD. No advice other than I feel horrible for you and hope your upcoming doctors appts can get you all right! Maybe a different GERD pill or something. Sleep is disruptive enough at our age to not throw in acid choking in the night!

GRIM! You win the QOTD today. Mic drop. No one else will have a better answer.
My substandard answer - yes, as a matter of fact I went to my first black tie wedding two months ago. I don't love long fancy dresses but I wore a super cute jumpsuit. No balls for me though. I'm cool to be ball-less since shopping for long gowns that fit my shirt and curvy figure aren't my favorite thing to do!

My friend arrives today to visit through Sunday. She's been in dc since Saturday but today her husband and kids leave. We are doing home cooking since she's probably sick of restaurants!

B: leftover poki bowl if it still tastes good! It was yesterday's lunch. Yum.
L: leftover turkey tacos

d: all kinds of grilled options - we have chicken sausage, salmon, turkey burgers... plus baked potatoes and asparagus.

Have a wonderful day! I'll be lurking the rest of the week while I play tour guide!

Good mornin y'all! QJB, is the PPI you're taking just OTC? My surgeon said to double up when it gets out of hand. It's equal to prescription strength

Nothing much planned for the day. Yesterday we did stay home all day and it was really nice. We may need to go get dog food today. It did rain almost all day yesterday. We got well over 2 inches here. Not all at once so it was really nice. I'm in a lot of pain thanks to the weather though.

QOTD: I've never been to any black tie event at all.

B: eggs and coffee x 2

L: chicken and ???

D: ham and a veggie.

Thanks I'll try doubling it!

It's the Costco brand OTC which usually does the trick, but not today.

My husband was very involved with Knights of Columbus and other Catholic organizations. We did go to a lot of formal dances where I wore long gowns. I have memories of one occasion where we had a joint affair with the Masons. Back then it was unusual because Catholics and Masons did not normally mix. About 2:00 AM I was in the restroom and a lot of the ladies in their very fancy gowns were there throwing up from having drank too much. It kind of took away from the glamour of it all.
