How about those on government assistance but can buy themselves the weed and cigarettes? I love paying for that with my taxes.

I worry a lot less about the rare individuals that abuse a social safety net and more about the high wealth individuals/corporations that pay less taxes than I do. That has far more impact on my taxes.

FDR was plainspoken about it. It's time to soak the rich. And they wouldn't even feel a pinch.

That's interesting last I knew in CT and honestly thought it was the same across the country someone who is on state assistance and receive EBT cards were not allowed to purchase cigarettes or alcohol. Weed at the dispensary's around here you can only use cash or a bank debit card. It specifically states NO credit cards or EBT's accepted. I do agree those on state assistance should not be buying stuff like that.

Good morning gang. JB is on the early train today. There's nothing out of the ordinary going on at home. I'll do my exercises and housewor****il it warms up, and probably a few things in the yard. I might start up the mower and put the snow blower away. I know -- big day, right?

QOTD: I'm not on TikTok, but JB will send me one now and then. I can see how it would get addictive. If I had to guess, I don't think it will get banned. If it becomes imminent, the Chinese government will sell their ownership stake. I'm a little perplexed by the whole thing. The crux of it is that the Chinese are getting access to Tik Tok user's personal data. Well, we freely give mountains of personal data away to every corporation we do business with, who turn around and sell it to others. If they want to address that bigger issue, I'm all for it. But singling out TikTok for violating our privacy is just silly.

Good Morning Queen JB and Meneuers,

Well as we all know life has ebbs and flows. JB so glad you are on a flow. Love that you are motivated too. I am excited to see your transformation so make sure you chronical it for us. We live for this stuff. But me I am on an ebb. Left the nursing home in tears Monday night because of the conditions and the nursing staff. I got the DON and made sure my concerns were heard then I viewed another facility to transfer my mother. By the time I walked in yesterday morning most of my concerns were met and by the time I got there last evening she is in a private room and on a different wing, so we do not have to interact with the people we were dealing with before. Everyone is now greeting me as I walk in and asking if there is anything they can do for me. Why did I have to go bat **** biolistic to make this happen? Well, this is the last time this facility will ever see my mother. I am content with what is going on there now. And then there is Rudy. I have no idea. We went for a walk he was fine and when he got up to go to bed last night he started limping. Just so pathetic. I left his papers so when Ron wakes up, I'll have him take him to the Vet hospital. I do have pet insurance that should kick in to pay for it so at least I got that going for me.

My bright side is a book my flight to Costa Rica at the end of May.

QOTD: So much. I love everything I learned from it. So many great recipes and all kind of tips and tricks. I cannot tell you how many things I do in my regular life now because TikTok made me do it.

Isn't this way too much spring flowers very early in the season?

oh no - I'm so sorry to hear about Rudy - I hope he's OK!!

and I get you on the nursing home. I had really mixed feelings about the one my father was in, but I didn't have the authority to move him (his wife did) - and I'm not sure there would have been beds in any of the other ones in the area anyway. They did move him to different wings a couple of times, though (because of my concerns) - and they also paid more attention to his diet after I raised hell (he was a vegetarian, and I don't think the dietary staff had any clue how to deal with that. I told them a few times to AT LEAST give him some Greek yogurt or a Boost shake (or whatever they used there) with every meal, because he needed some protein, dammit!!).

I washed and set her hair on February 27. She broke the ankle on March 1st. When she arrived at the nursing home, I said I need her hair washed because it has been a while due to hospital stay. They did no****ill Monday night that was March 11. Can you imagine going that long. They are giving me access to the salon so Saturday I'll go in and cut and set her hair.
