Good morning all and Happy hump Day,
This week has not been pleasant but, at least, it's moving in the right direction towards the weekend.
QOTD- I would use my magic wand to transport me and a tiny jackhammer into Donald Trump's Larynx. I then put on my hard hat and go to work. The world will cheer for a tiny bit more stability. However, Trump will sue, I'll be left penniless, and dem Dems will get the blame, resulting in another Trump presidency.
B: 1/2 bagel & lox.
L: any suggestions for a type of restaurant for a blue collar, stick to your ribs lunch? I'm in charge of picking the restaurant for an bunch of teamsters, retired cops, and streets& sans workers. I don't want to go to the defacto hot dog stand or Greek grill.
D: Grilled chicken, broccoli.
S: 1 two-bite cupcake.
HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

Good morning, everybody!
I read about the Monte Hall Paradox yesterday, and I'm having some trouble wrapping my head around it. It's a probability puzzle based upon the game show Let's make a Deal.
A contestant is provided with three doors. Behind two doors are goats. Behind the other door is a luxury trip. Just for clarity, I am going to specify that the luxury trip is considered to be a more desirable prize than the goats (however, cute they may be). The contestant chooses a door, and before the door is opened, the host opens one of the two non-chosen doors, which is revealed to contain a goat. There are now two doors left, one containing a trip and one containing a goat.
Monte Hall now offers the contestant the choice to switch doors. The question is whether the contestant is better off switching. To me, it seems like both switching and not switching are choices and both should have a 50% probability of being correct. But, apparently, I am wrong. Because the Monte Hall selection was not made at random, it changes the odds of success going forward: whereas the first pick had a one in three chance of success (and stays at one in three), switching has a one in two chance of success.
There is a Khan Academy tutorial on the statistics behind this as well as a Wikipedia page complete with charts and cites to mathematical works proving that this is the correct choice. Also, QJB, I'm not sure if one is really allowed to keep the goats.
We binge watched four episodes of Mare of Easton last night. It was good. Marilyn continues to power through her puzzle - she feels pretty good that she can complete it today. I've got work from home and Crossfit. For happy Hour tonight, I think that i will try one of the new bottles we picked up in Paso Robles.
QOTD: Some beach time sounds good to me also. How about Turtle bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu?
Breakfast: Bagel
Lunch: Roast Beef
Dinner: Steak
Have a great day, all!
