When we got

pedicures in Minnesota in January, they wrapped our feet in plastic wrap so we could put our socks and boots back on without messing up our toes or freezing them!

we've called my brother Yo-Yo for years. His name is John, but I started calling him Johan (the German form) when I was a kid. It eventually morphed into YoYo (or sometimes just "Yo").

G'morning all!

Ooh, eyelid surgery! I wish I could have one, but under my eyes. Your poor mom with black and blue eyes. I had those yes when I did my permanent makeup.

All ****e hit the fan yesterday...food wise.

My cookie dealer showed up with all the goods. I had ordered a toffee cookie "just to try", so the second I get them I tried not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR cookies. I can report back the cookies are really good and hopefully they can keep them for next year because I will order more than one box of those.

DH knows no chocolate for me on V day, because I am weak and have no willpower in front of chocolate. So last night he comes home with one of those cube croissants I had lusted after with chocolate ganache inside. Then he proceeds to say just have a bite or two of it every day. Are you serious? Who do you think you are talking to? Me? Having a bite or two every day? Do you think somehow on V day your wife became another type of woman? Sheesh! I ate half of the croissant and that was me having will power.

QOD: nope. Sheila was it. And even that only because they saw a movie with the character's name as Sheila.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Hb eggs
  • Fage yogurt, cottage cheese icecream
  • Gs cookies, cubed croissant with chocolate ganache
  • E: modified weight session - my right arm is getting stronger

Happy almost Fri-yay!

Good morning! What a lovely day yesterday was all around. Beautiful weather, great aqua work out, fun little gift from Rog, Rog got his implant activated, I made a to die for dinner (bacon wrapped potato roses, anyone?), a single nice glass of wine and a great nights sleep. Chatted with the kiddos and got random I love you texts from the grands. A perfect day.

For those keeping score -- Roger's implant was activated and it was super easy. He is on level one. He'll stay on each level one week, then increase one until he hits the "sweet spot". They want as much activation of the stimulus as possible while still allowing him to sleep undisturbed. There are 22 levels. When it activates, it pushes his tongue forward. Like a little jump. You can see it happening. So we were worried that it would impact his sleep. But nope. He didn't even notice it happening. I however, noticed no roaring snores and a calmer breathing pattern for him. They said by about 1 month I should see/hear massive changes in his snoring. When he thinks he'**** the sweet spot, he'll have an in depth sleep study to see how his apnea is doing. I am very hopeful this is going to be a great change in both our lives. And he only has this little remote to use. No packing CPAPS and such.

Today I have a dentist appointment and then plan a big walk. Roger is making breakfast and it's going to be high carb, so I need to counter that. Other than that, I've got nothing going on. Maybe I'll work on a birthday card for my littlest.

QoTD: Not that I know of.

menu

B: a few bites of a dutch baby pancake and a slice or two of bacon

L: leftover chicken artichoke stew. It's nearly gone

D: Chicken and garlic sausage and edamame pasta with some red sauce

Peace Everybody!

So happy the implant is working. DH was asking about it, not that he would do (he is too chicken) but was wondering about Rog and his livelihood if it didn't workout.
