What's on your Tuesday Menu?
G'morning all!
We have a break in the weather and woke up to sunny skies. We'll take that break gladly because the rivers are overflowing and the ground can't take much more rain.
When was the last time you went into a bank? I don't think I have been inside a bank since the pandemic. Everything can be done online or at the atm. But there was a snafu with a wire I'm supposed to send and it won't let me do online, so off I go to the bank. How last century. I'll follow JB's example and run other errands while out, including a TJ stop. I love my TJ and shopping at it so it's always a pleasure going there. It's like that Cheers song, where everybody knows your name and they are always glad you came! They don't know my name but they always act they are glad I'm there. Maybe this is sign of aging that my happy place is a grocery store!
QOD: Impressionism, some expressionism, and Baroque. I gotta understand what I see, I don't like to interpret it.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee
- Left over crab ceviche with quest chips
- L&F yogurt, cream cheese with soy crackers
- Chicken meatballs
- E: modified weight session
Happy taco Tue!

I go to the bank once a year to get my admin a gift card. I feel like I am stepping back in time.

I've been to a bank twice in 2023 because the bank is my mortgage holder and they had to sign my insurance claims checks too! I was lucky, there's a threshold where you have to mail them to the corporate office to be signed which would be annoying and stressful

It's not in the bank, but I have a company I deal with that doesn't do online orders. They have a paper catalog. You call them on the telephone, tell them what you want, and they mail it to you. When you get it, you add the actual price of postage from the package to the price of the goods, and mail them a check. These days we can't use blue mailboxes anymore, so I need to go inside the post office to mail a damn check. It's weird, and seems like it's from a bygone era.

Wow, and the company trusts people to receive the goods and then mail them a check? Talk about bygone era.
