Good morning. So much rain. More coming. We are beyond soggy. But right now there is a break for sunshine and maybe I'll go try to take a walk in it. Ooops, never mind. Need to wait. Sun is shining but the rain is still coming down. Woke up to our daughter at our door. She brought me fresh eggs from her chickie chickies, a check to pay us back a final installment from a loan we gave them forever ago and never thought about again. I feel like I have found free money. And she asked Dad for a ride to work so she could drop off her car for maintenance. That gave me a chance to clean bathrooms, the front porch and wash the storm door before sitting down to read and have coffee. The day is off to a good start.

I got my new glasses yesterday and I cannot read out of them. Already called and left a message for an appointment to resolve that. I did really well on food yesterday and just barely made it to my 30 minutes of exercise total by jogging around the house at the end of the day. But I made it.

I've got not much else going on until this evening. Our little neighborhood 6 pack is getting together for wine and appetizers. I'm bringing the fabulous wine I bought in Napa a few weeks ago and Grissini. They are yummy breadsticks that Sheila taught me to dip into my wine like I was 5 and in Italy. I'll also bake up a few premade TJ type apps so I can clear the boxes out of my freezer. Should be an easy day. Need to finish the Valentine's Day cards I started and get them ready to mail.

QoTD: I just finished Dead Wake about the sinking of the Lusitania. It was excellent, I thought. My book club was split on it. They found it dragging until the actual sinking. I enjoyed it. I've read all 17 of the "Country Club Murders" series in the last 3-4 weeks. Easy reading and slightly amusing. It was a nice break. Now I am reading Heaven and Earth Grocery Store which takes a lot of paying attention and I think I'm going for Tom Hanks book The Making of a Motion Picture next. I have it in hard copy. But I did just get a Libby notice that Killers of a certain age is now in my queue. Also, Capote versus the Swans is going to happen. Right after I watch the final two episodes of the Crown. Finally.

Food today...

B: scrambled egg, fresh spinach, 2-3 oz smoked brisket

L: more smoked brisket and a piece of cheddar cheese

D: TBD. Definitely fine wine....

Photos are my chickie chickie eggs and a Nest snapshot of what my yard looks like most afternoons around here:

QJB-as usual your cookies are spectacular. I would like to see your less PG cookies. When I read you finished decorating the penis cookies, I initially thought that was a typo. However, I remembered you writing about the "adult" cookies.

Today is just work from home, lots of catching up to do still! One meeting scheduled for today. We have purchased 2 bidets (everyone who has one raves about it). Amazon sent one incorrect item (elongated vs round toilet), so I need to go to UPS to return the wrong item. Does anyone on this site have bidets in their house. The last time I used one was when DH and I went to France. This was BC (before children), so many years ago, DH was recently visiting his mom and sister, who has a bidet, he really liked it. Maybe that is too much butt talk! We are getting new flooring in the bathroom and master bedroom, so when the plumber comes next week to reset the toilet, I will have them install the bidets also. It is funny, it is supposed to be a simple installation (bidet) but every time DH does a "simple/easy" job I swear it turns into an all-day event of mishaps and problems. I prefer not to go there; he gets grouchy and unpleasant to be around when this happens. Not a whole lot planned this weekend. Currently just my workouts, which will be yoga today, weightlifting tomorrow, and Yin yoga (stretching) on Sunday. I might see if there are any interesting movies out.

Is anyone thinking about going to the OH Conference in Sept? I bought tickets at the end of last year's conference since it was pretty cheap then. I have made my hotel reservations also.

There is a bidet in John's bathroom. He put it in at the start of Covid when TP supply was dwindling. Now I think he'll always have one.

Ron installed the Amazon Bidet about two weeks ago in his bathroom. He claims it is life changing. It took him less than an hour to install. I tried it once however it's angled for him so I wouldn't do it again. Used them on vacation and thought they were great.

QOTD- I just signed up for Brit Box so I have a ton of things to watch. I was watching Are You Being Served? and Keeping Up Appearances, and one with Helen Mirren that I can't remember the name of. She's a detective and there is a remake on Pea**** so I thought that I would watch the original. Most of the British shows are so much better than the American remakes.

I actually filed my taxes a few days ago. I finally got Turbo Tax to import my data from last year. I ended up paying the feds but I'm getting a nice refund from the state, thanks to the kicker law. It's a bizarre law that says if they collect more taxes than they estimate they have to return the excess to the taxpayers. It's every 2 years so I'm not going to complain.

Is anyone planning on going to the OH conference this year? I would love to have a meet-up with everyone. It will be a lot easier to get there than from Maui.

Have a great day everyone!
