Good morning, everybody!

And Happy Fri-yay! Four work weeks into the New Year. I used to try and figure out exactly when the good feelings of being on vacation ended and I felt like I was back in exactly the same place as before I left. Usually it was about 4 days before I forgot that I had ever been on vacation.

It's still warm and rainy here, and should continue that way until I leave for Orlando on Tuesday. Our town's recreation department has an annual ice fishing tournament which was scheduled for February 3rd. I've entered a few times in the past, particularly with my son. But with the rain and warm weather I imagine that it will be cancelled this year. Marilyn is away at tennis that week, so I will have to figure out something else to do.

We had Zoom ****tails with Lisa and Roger last night, it was lovely to see them. And Marilyn made this enormous chicken pot pie from Costco. Which I will probably be eating all weekend - we didn't make much of a dent in it.

This weekend is pretty low-key: Crossfit, pot pie and football mostly. I think that I told everybody that we are mistakenly traveling to Las Vegas during the Super Bowl. Our flight home is during the game, so Sunday will be our last games for the season. Fall goes by so quickly.

I meant to get a picture of the offending door handle, its still in a bag on my front car seat.

QOTD: I don't know whether it's so much doing things differently, as it is that the things that I do just seem to work better.

Breakfast: Bagel

Lunch: Chicken parm

Dinner: Chicken Pot pie

Have a great day, all!

She and her friends are big fans, so they are really disappointed. They do think the loss was a one off thing and not the beginning of the end.

Good morning ~ Here's hoping you get the call today! Work went well yesterday, I made good progress and hopefully I have the same luck today. All positions have now been filled in my unit, whew! Three were internal, one external but all excited. I have to wait for backfill on one internal and the external needs to do a lengthy background check, but we can get started at least. I get to remodel the office a bit too so that is exciting. All this change will be great. I'm looking forward to reorganizing. It will be a ton of work, but so rewarding - I love this stuff.

QOTD - Exercise comes to mind - other than the first 2 or 3 years post surgery where I was exercising regularly, I am now just as inconsistent as I was pre surgery. I'll get on track and fall off, rinse and repeat. That needs to change and it seems so simple to do, but it's really a struggle for me and I don't know what is my mental block? I want this, I just clearly don't want to put in the work or time. How do I get there? Or back there? How do I get excited again or more importantly STAY excited? Or at least make the non-negotiables stick? I've said FU to 'just do it' for so long. I have to want it so I guess focus on the results? The health benefits? I won't get 100% results giving 10% effort. But I found my magic with diet after years in the gutter, so maybe I can with exercise too. Sounds promising - maybe I just haven't found what works for me yet. I will keep trying. In fact, I'm working on a low pressure plan that starts Monday.

Accountability - Great, perfect even but 187.5 today .

b- coffee x 4, L&F yogurt

l - blackened chicken w/buffalo sauce and pickles

d - Queso Birria tacos

s - brie bite
